DAQMAN BULL’S-EYE PLOT DRAMA: After big-race profits on both Friday and Saturday, Daqman took aim with an English handicapper at an Irish Group race yesterday, revealing a bull’s-eye plot at the Curragh, ignored at 22-1 SP. But Stateira couldn’t get a clear run until Oisin Murphy dived down the rail just too late to land the win-50 punt.

WON (w/p 3rd 22-1) STATEIRA

NAP MAKING RACECOURSE DEBUT: Daqman dares another gamble today with his Bank Holiday nap, an 8.4 offer on BETDAQ this morning that has never been on a racecourse.

SUNLIGHT SET TO SHINE

⭕ 2.22 Redcar Saeed Bin Suroor is 3-4 with his three-year-olds on turf in the new season, and today he chooses between Kempton AW Wednesday and this maiden at Redcar on turf for the debut of Bright Sunlight, who has been working well at Newmarket.

Big at 8.4 BETDAQ offers this morning, Bright Sunlight, a Dark Angel grey, is sister to Owl Island and half-sister to Ribble Radiant, both winners first time on a racetrack.

The booking of jockey Oisin Orr is significant. He is 2-2 for Saeed Bin Surror this year, both on Fighter’s Spirit, also taken up to Yorkshire to win first time out at Beverley.

MARQUAND DOUBLE BID

⭕ 3.53 and ⭕ 4.25 Windsor Tom Marquand has missed the last five William Haggas winners but is in the right place at the right time to score on First Principle (4.25).

The Kingman gelding is up in trip and down in grade against a weak field, with the exception of Auld Toon Loon, who won a class higher over the Windsor CD in August and has had a run back.

Marquand may be off the mark at the London track already on Trefor (3.53), twice a CD winner, and preferred to Nad Alshiba Green, a 5f specialist who has failed four times in a row to make good over the sixth furlong, including when beaten favourite at Lingfield under none other than Tom Marquand!

FORTITIDE ON COURSE

⭕ 4.07 Redcar (Zetland Gold Cup) 🤔 LAYS LOGIC 🤔 Not a good race for favourites. The last two runnings have been won by 14-1 shots but the three outsiders today are all aged six or seven and younger horses have a 90% record.

Divine Knight for Wiliam Haggas could be favourite but Tom Marquand is at Windsor and the gelding is claimed off first run for his new yard. A winner only of his maiden, always a bad sign.

The same applies to Spoken Truth: nine defeats, firstly for Dermot Weld then for David O’Meara, since winning his maiden at Cork in April 2024.

So ‘the one most likely to’ is Fierce Fortitude, placed every race since his debut, then winning here at Redcar the last day, with the money down. But Betdaq 6.1 offers this morning.

Another scorer here last time out, Rainbow Nebula won at Ascot in October but the 7f and 1m player may be tackling a trip too far today with front-runner Clouds Hill likely to set them a target.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
