BACK IN ACTION AT DUNDALK: SHAMROCK heads to Dundalk on Wednesday for his best bet of the day running in the final race.
Hopefully, it will be a case of saving the best until last today with a nap in the final race of the day – the 9.00 at Dundalk.
Our Manekineko ran a sound race over course and distance just 12 days ago and looks set to go one better in a race where many are out of form or returning from lengthy absences.
Our Manekineko has been running back into form in his last four starts having been given some respite from the handicapper – he is 9lb lower than when finishing last of seven here in October.
Tansanite is a big danger. He finished a good third over course and distance last time and the handicapper has edged him down a further pound but he has yet to win in nine starts and I am not sure he truly sees out the mile trip.
Primal Snow could be a bigger danger. She is lightly raced and capable of further improvement. She has some good course and distance form to her name but is another one with slight stamina doubts and also has an absence of around three months to overcome.
