IT’S NOW 8 OUT OF 12: SHAMROCK ended the week on a run of 8 winning naps from his last 12 (just two have been odds on).
The run of naps came to a disappointing end yesterday – I was bidding for 5 in a row but Found, found little at the end of the Alleged Stakes and could only finish third.
8 from the last 12 NAPS have now won with just two in the sequence starting odds on !!

Found’s trainer Aidan O’Brien said: “The plan with Found is to go for the Tattersalls Gold Cup with two runs before it. I knew she would be a bit fresh but it was a lovely run and she will come forward from it.”
The race went to Zhukova who continued Dermot Weld’s excellent start to the new season. Weld said after the race: “She’s a nice mare. She won the Oyster Stakes last year and has grown and strengthened over the winter. My late mother bred her, and we have all the family. It was an excellent renewal of the race, and was really of a Group One or Group Two standard. I’m not sure where she will go next. The Blue Wind at Naas is a possibility.”
There was better news with the only other recommended bet – a BETDAQ WIN AND PLACE on the Dermot Weld trained Joailliere in the Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes. She held on for third at a rewarding 9/1.
The big news story of the day came at Limerick when Barry Geraghty was sensationally struck with a 30 day ban for his ride on Noble Emperor.
Acting under Rule 212, which governs running and riding, the stewards were of the opinion Geraghty had failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing, banning him for 30 days, with the horse prevented from running for 60 days and his trainer Tony Martin fined €3,000.
Geraghty’s ban is due to begin on April 17, taking in the conclusion of the British jumps season at Sandown and the five-day Punchestown fixture.
