15/8 WINNING NAP FROM ONE BET: Just the one bet from SHAMROCK on Saturday – his Punchestown NAP CROSSHUE BOY who won at 15/8. He now heads to Navan on Sunday.
I’ve had a poor week so it was good to get back on the scoresheet with a confidence building 15/8 WINNING NAP at Punchestown – maybe I should stick with the jumps after all !!
He stayed on well to land the maiden hurdle over three miles and won by five and a half lengths.
There are two cards in Ireland this afternoon. Navan on the flat and Killarney over the jumps.

Aidan O’Brien’s Washington DC is top on ratings here but those ploughing in at short odds will have the nagging doubt of a poor run last time out at Ascot on their minds. He went off an even money favourite for the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes over a similar trip and ground and failed to fire beating just two horses home.
I’m all for forgiving horses bad runs but I can’t be too charitable when they are priced at 2.5 (at the time of writing) and the race set up is pretty much the same (although in fairness, this is a Listed so should be easier for Washington DC).
He has to be a lay for me and I’m hopeful that Most Beautiful will give him most to to.
I’m treading on DAQMAN copyrighted bets here (!!) but it’s a DOUBLE WHAMMY for me – a lay on Washington DC and a back of Most Beautiful.
3:20 Coolmore Vintage Crop Stakes (Group 3) (4yo+, Class 1, 1m 6f, 4 runners)
Aidan O’Brien and Dermot Weld have alternated with the winners of this in recent years and that trend looks set to continue today with the O’Brien trained Bondi Beach winning after Weld won it last year with Forgotten Rules.
Controversially awarded the St Leger at Doncaster last season (but later lost the race on appeal) Bondi Beach disappointed in the Melbourne Cup but won a Listed race well at Limerick last time out on soft ground. He is just as effective (if not better) on a faster surface.
