SLIGO NAP: SHAMROCK’s best bet of the day on Wednesday runs in the opener on tonight’s Sligo card. Testing ground, the going is expected to be heavy.
In all honesty it’s pretty hard to get excited about the opening maiden at Sligo tonight – but sometimes good bets can shine stronger in a poor race than they do at a higher level.
Such is the case tonight with Future Frontier who is trained by Kevin Condon.
He hasn’t shown much, but he does have the most experience and that will count for a lot as it’s heavy ground tonight with of course the steep uphill finish at Sligo. A real stamina test for the two-year-olds.
Future Frontier ran his best race over a slightly longer trip than tonight when a six length runner-up at Bellewstown to Boyfriend Brian (who went on to win again at Killarney).
There was give in the ground at Bellewstown and it’s encouraging that he ran better with juice in the ground. Today’s ground will be a whole new test but that goes for most of the field.
It’s such a weak contest that the debutant Cul An Ti can’t be ruled out entirely but at around 3.5 on BETDAQ Future Frontier has just about enough ticks in the boxes to make him the best bet of the night.
