5/4 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK landed a 5/4 WINNING NAP from his ONLY BET on Wednesday. My Painter who won the 4.25 at Bellewstown.
Back with a winning nap yesterday – MY PAINTER WON 5/4.
Bellewstown stage a jumps card on Thursday and are joined on the flat by Tipperary who have a Group 3 and Listed race on the card.
5:40 Coolmore Stud Fairy Bridge Stakes (Fillies Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 7f 100y, 5 runners)
The most important thing to note about tonight’s card is the going. Currently described as soft to heavy.
Creggs Pipes will be a tough nut to crack here. She fully deserves a chance at this Group prize, arriving on a run of four wins including a soft ground win at the Curragh. The two words ‘made all’ have appeared in three of her four recent wins and the same tactics are likely to be deployed tonight.
She is the sole four-year-old in in the race and of the quartet of three-year-olds Now Or Never has achieved by far the most so far, she finished an excellent fourth in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot (though worryingly hung badly right in the closing stages). She had previously finished third (although beaten 10 lengths) to Jet Setting in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. She has also proved she can handle give in the ground and, like Creggs Pipes, is not averse to making the running.
Really tough to split the pair but I’ll favour Creggs Pipes who is the better price on BETDAQ
6:40 Kilfrush Stud Abergwaun Stakes (Listed) (3yo+, Class 1, 5f, 9 runners)
Monsieur Joe made all to win this last year and on similar ground a repeat looks on the cards. He showed his current well-being with a good second at Deauville last time out having previously won at Newmarket. Gordon Lord Byron has had a remarkable career but may find the five furlongs too zippy these days, Gracious John has been running well in better company but also has a tendency to throw in the odd shocker. He’s been defeated at 5/4 and 4/5 this year.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Monsieur Joe (6.40 Tipperary)
NEXT BEST: Creggs Pipes (5.40 Tipperary)
