PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY PREVIEW: Eight Premier League games on Saturday and it gets off to a flyer with Spurs v Liverpool at White Hart Lane (12.30pm). We preview each match with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
Tottenham v Liverpool
12.30pm What a great start to this weekend’s Premier League. Liverpool got back to winning ways midweek in the League Cup after their shock defeat against Burnley last weekend – an interesting stat from that game was that Burnley had the least amount of possession of any winning team in the Premier League for the best part of ten years. Liverpool obviously dominated the game but you have to wonder what where they doing with the ball in an attacking sense not to find the net?
That being said this should be an open game, Klopp likes his team to play on the front foot and Spurs will enjoy an open game too – so we could see plenty of goals. Over 2.5 is currently trading 1.86 which offers a bit of value and we slightly prefer that compared to Both Teams To Score at around the 1.71. In terms of match odds, you’d slightly lean towards Spurs at 2.5 compared to Liverpool at 3.1 – but there’s doesn’t look to be too much value in either price.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 goals at 1.86.

Crystal Palace v Bournemouth
3pm Crystal Palace have started the Premier League the same way in which they finished it last season – poorly. They’ve now managed just two wins in 21 League games thus far in 2016 – it would take a lot to commit to backing them here at around the 2.4 mark, however you can’t be over enthusiastic about laying that price either against a Bournemouth side who themselves aren’t exactly in great form and find themselves bottom after two games. That means nothing really but they were poor against United to start with and while they frustrated West Ham last weekend, they didn’t put in a performance that would make you want to back them here either. It’ll be no surprised to see Bournemouth set up quite defensively here and we like under 2.5 goals at 1.72. 0-0 is also worth backing at around the 10.0 mark.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.72.

Chelsea v Burnley
3pm Chelsea left it late again last week against Watford to go two from two but you couldn’t call them impressive in either game thus far, indeed we might be reading very different views in the press without those late goals against West Ham and Watford. Burnley only managed to have 19% possession against Liverpool while winning last weekend and you might see something similar here – however, with Chelsea looking a bit disjointed in their opening games, we could be looking at another situation here where Chelsea are in need of yet another late goal. We certainly don’t like the Chelsea price at 1.29 and under 2.5 goals is certainly of interest at 2.24 which looks on the large side. A Chelsea/Chelsea HT/FT result is trading odds on at the moment and we feel there is a bit of value in laying that.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Chelsea/Chelsea HT/FT at 1.88.

Everton v Stoke
3pm You could say Stoke got their season back on track with a 4-0 win midweek in the League Cup but obviously the opposition where a few levels below them – they have started the Premier League season poorly enough, conceding four goals at home to Man City last weekend before drawing with Middlesbrough. Meanwhile Everton have started the season in good form drawing with Spurs and then being West Brom – with home advantage here, they look to be good value at around the 1.77 mark. For First Goalscorer purposes, it’s worth noting that Lukaku hasn’t scored or assisted in his last ten Everton games, and is on the longest Premier League goal drought of his career.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Everton to beat Stoke at 1.77.

Leicester v Swansea
3pm After a shock defeat to Hull to start the season, and a reasonably boring 0-0 with Arsenal, Leicester now have a great chance to get their first win of the season at home to Swansea. Swansea also lost to Hull last weekend before winning a poor season opener against Burnley – the Premier League Champions should have too much class for this Swansea side and they look to be great value at 1.78 for the win. It might be worth checking out some of the handicap prices closer to kick off too, with Leicester currently priced at around 2.4 -1 on the Asian Handicap.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Leicester to beat Swansea at 1.78.

Southampton v Sunderland
3pm With Southampton’s early performances this season, many have raised the question will this be the season that they suffer from selling their best players each year? There’s no doubting they have somewhat turned into a feeder club, and it must be hard to keep getting results year or year while selling your best assets. This game could be a good benchmark to what lies ahead for them, because if they are to have a reasonably good season, then they should be beating Sunderland at home comfortably. However, based on early games, we cannot back them at 1.67, and we much prefer under 2.5 goals at around the 1.88 mark.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.88.

Watford v Arsenal
3pm Even though it’s still very early in the season, the pressure on Arsene Wenger to get a win here will be immense, the patience of Arsenal fans this summer is growing thin with the manager unwillingness to spend on new talent. They have had a very different start to the season facing Liverpool and Leicester in the opening two games – but there will be no excuse now for them not to win against Watford, who will be seen by Arsenal fans as an expected win compared to Liverpool and Leicester.
Watford have performed reasonably well in their two opening games, drawing away to Southampton while Chelsea needed a late goal to beat them, with home advantage, it could take Arsenal a while to find the gap to break them down and we see Watford frustrating Arsenal but ultimately Arsenal winning in the end. We don’t like the Arsenal price at 1.78 though and much prefer under 2.5 goals at 2.0.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.0.

Hull v Manchester United
5.30pm You have to wonder are the markets getting a little too excited on United with them having only played Bournemouth and Southampton at home – United have probably had the easiest of starts in the Premier League and it’s still too early to judge them we feel. They have looked good thus far though, if lacking a little pace going forward and you wonder how long Rooney will be a starter for them? They seem too short to be backing here in 90 minutes at around 1.5, but we still feel that should beat this Hull side, who themselves have started the season well. It could be worth risking over 2.5 goals at 2.08 here with both teams in the goals in their opening matches.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 25 goals at 2.08.
