NOW IT’S FOUR SHAMROCK NAPS UP: It was a choice yesterday of Mush Mir (next best, WON 15-8) and Speed Master (WON 4-9). Shamrock was hoping to keep odds-on bets out of his sequence, but can never guarantee the Betdaq price will stand and picked the gambled-on Speed Master for his fourth winning nap in a row after The Real Article (WON 5-4), The Minack (WON 11-4) and Sword Of Destiny (WON evens).
Hardly under the radar. But the 400-mile round trip by in-form trainer Victor Dartnall with Jezza (3.40) should pay off today.
Jezza, owned by the Under The Radar syndicate, has won four races on the Flat up to 1m 6f so I expect him to be made plenty of use of over this 2m.
But he’s first time in a handicap and this is one of Dartnall’s fortes (he’s 50% with debutants). Good jockey booking.
A five-year-old worth a decent rating usually wins the handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (3.00) and my Irish-bred bet of the day is Jukebox Melody for a trainer who does well in this type of race on this particular track.
He would be unbeaten had he not come up against a three-times winner who forced an error from him at Newcastle. Goes well fresh.
