EUROPA LEAGUE: We preview Thursday’s game in the Europa League between MAN U v ANDERLECHT with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MANCHESTER UNITED V ANDERLECHT
8.05pm Manchester United did a job on Premier League leaders Chelsea here on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping for something similar here to see off Anderlecht. It would have been bitterly disappointing for Jose Mourinho’s men to concede that late equalizer in the first leg, but United bossed most of the game, and are short favourites to win tonight. The odds at the time of writing currently stand at; Manchester United 1.28, Anderlecht 16.0 and the draw is 6.2.
Anderlecht will have plenty of fans at around the 16.0 mark, United just haven’t killed off sides at Old Trafford this season and you could plenty of people take a punt on the outsiders. However, United are unbeaten in their last 26 at home in all competitions – and in Europe, they haven’t been beaten at home since 2013 when Real Madrid beat them 2-1. It’s very difficult to see Anderlecht winning, but with United only trading 1.28, we’ll have to look elsewhere for a bit of value.
Anderlecht are unbeaten in their last seven, and currently sit top of the Belgian league so they’ll be no pushovers. With United failing to score many goals at home this season, under 2.5 goals really appeals at 2.4 which simply looks too big. United’s last five games at Old Trafford have seen under 2.5 goals, and Anderlecht have kept a clean sheet in five of those seven unbeaten games. Obviously Anderlecht will have to be more adventurous towards the end of the game, however we don’t see them starting to attack early and given United’s home record, the 2.4 on under 2.5 just screams value.
