DUNDALK NAP: SHAMROCK naps under the floodlights at Dundalk tonight as he bids to follow-up Thursday’s winning nap at Thurles.
Real Steel won his maiden hurdle well at Thurles yesterday to land the nap at 8/13.
Friday night, so of course that means Dundalk.
It looks a tough card for punters to get stuck into. I thought Bring On The Band sets the bar at a reasonable level for the debutants to aim at in the one mile maiden at 7pm.
The Get Lyons trained filly has had both her starts here – fourth on debut over seven furlongs and then seemed to show improved form next time out when stepped up to the mile and finishing third to the John Oxx trained favourite Night Of Power.
It’s by no means exceptional form and the two most likely newcomers are Downdraft (Joseph O’Brien) and Zamroudpour (Dermot Weld) both of which have been strong in early trading.
But experience counts of plenty and I’m hoping Bring On The Band can hit the right notes tonight.
