THE NAP LOOKS MORE THAN LIKELY

2.45 Brighton The idiosyncratic south coast track is one DAQMAN doesn’t often visit for the nap of the day but in the case of More Than Likely I make an exception today.

Simply because she already has the vital course and distance experience and it’s not just a case of her coping with the roller-coaster circuit it’s more a case of her positively thriving on it.

She scooted home by seven lengths over course and distance last time out and must surely have a first rate chance of defying her penalty in this race which looks a simple match between her and Miss Elsa.

The Edwards Greatrex trained Miss Elsa receives 7lb but was turned over at 2/5 last time out and unlike the selection has no experience of Brighton.

There’s enough ticks in the boxes for me to make More Than Likely a SUPERNAP and continue trainer Richard Hughes’ excellent record at the seaside track.

7.40 Newbury Just five runners head to the start for Newbury’s featured class three handicap and the Gary Moore trained Guns Of Leros makes plenty of appeal.

He was given plenty of rope by the jockeys in behind when making a winning reappearance at Newmarket after a couple of years off and starting at 40/1. But whilst the other jockeys slept, Hector Crouch (rides again tonight) had poached a winning lead and ended up three and a half lengths clear.

He’s up 6lb for the win but clearly retains his talent and will no doubt thrash it out with fellow front runner Teodoro here.

8.35 Newton Abbot Some late night summer jumping action and in the finale I fear the handicapper has caught up with Mojestic who is up another 5lb for his nose win at Fontwell.

This looks quite competitive and a LAY of Majestic on the BETDAQ place market will cost 16.2 points (1.81 at the time of writing) to win 20 points.
