TOO MANY BRIDESMAIDS BUT A FAT 10-1 CIGAR: Daqman said he’d be smoking an Havana after the Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh yesterday and duly landed a 34-1 bookies’ forecast with the one-two, the 10-1 winner adding to his big-race duo on Saturday. Otherwise he fell for the wrong favourites as supernaps and had his fifth place in two days without winning!
WON 10-1 HAVANA GREY
2ND 5-2 CASPIAN PRINCE
ON TO 1,000 POINTS FORTUNE-COOKIES PROFIT: Daqman promised 1,000 points profit from his big-odds bets. He’s had the big-race winners but squandered some of the stakes. He should have stuck to his own horses to follow! Fortune Cookies have made just 54 points short of 1,000 to level stakes.
FORTUNE COOKIES: 946 POINTS UP
Jackpot returns! For 20-points level stakes on all Fortune Cookies’ runners so far, you would have netted 945.88 profit from 12 winners.

LUCCA BE A LADY TODAY
2.15 Cartmel It’s hard to look beyond the chances of Lucca Lady in the opener at Cartmel today with the booking of Richard Johnson.
The Katy Price trained runner has been putting in some good placed efforts in much better company including at Aintree last time out where she finished a close-up third behind Kupatana. She has been given a break since that run and seems versatile ground wise.
Both The Steward and Beach Break help make the market for us and are both running consistently without winning.
Locally trained The Steward was beaten 18 lengths into third here last month over 2m 6f and the drop back in trip looks sensible given he ran well over this trip previously when runner-up to Clemento.
Beach Break was a course and distance runner-up last month and followed that up with another second place at Worcester behind a 50/1 shot. He looks the danger and the McCain stable have had two winners from their last four runners.
6.10 Windsor Lively Lydia went into my notebook after her debut at Chelmsford. The Eve Johnson Houghton trained runner opened up quite short in the market but was a late drifter. Despite finishing fifth of the seven runners, she wasn’t beaten far and clearly has ability.
It looked an above average race. California Love who finished a neck in front of Lively Lydia came out to win next time out at Newmarket. The drop back to six furlongs also looks a positive.
Happy Odyssey, the current BETDAQ market leader, is penalised for her narrow win at Newmarket and looks opposable with the extra weight.
7.10 Windsor A class 3 handicap that might not take much winning. Madame Bounty put in a much improved effort when runner-up to Dizzy G at Newbury. She drops back to five furlongs which looks a positive given the way in which she travelled at Newbury.
Nine Below Zero won a three runner event at Bath but this is much tougher and he doesn’t appeal to me off a 5lb higher mark.
