PUNCHESTOWN NAP: SHAMROCK’S NAP runs in the closing bumper at Punchestown on Monday.
The Caddy Rose has had plenty of chances but the door might just open at last in the closing bumper on Monday’s Punchestown card.
The Noel Meade trained mare is now seven runs without success but the application of first time cheekpieces give backers hope that she can finally come good – especially as she comes into this on the back of her best effort yet – a neck second at the track over the longer 2m 2f trip last time out.
The obvious danger is the Willie Mullins trained Fasola Tido who was second to a 25/1 shot on debut at Fairyhouse. It was a good first effort but I’m hoping that the experience of The Caddy Rose might make her a little more battle hardened.
