CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League action with the games between BARCELONA V LYON and BAYERN MUNICH V LIVERPOOL both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V LYON
8pm We have a very interesting night of Champions League football ahead with both fixtures 0-0 after the first leg. We start with Barcelona hosting Lyon and while you won’t see many punters giving Lyon a chance tonight – you have to remember that they score goals for fun and now we’re are in an away goal situation. However with that being said, it’s very hard to see past a Barcelona win here given their quality and also their experience at this level in the Champions League. The markets agree with Barcelona heavy odds on favourites.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Barcelona 1.26, Lyon 13.5 and the draw is 7.0. There’s no doubt that Lyon face an uphill task here, however Barcelona have been conceding goals this season and it seems a case of Barcelona having to outscore Lyon. However we felt the tie would be full of goals and we had 0-0 last time out! Barcelona had 25 shots in the first leg and Lyon had chances too – we can only see goals in this one and we like over 3.5 goals at 2.2 which looks good value.

BAYERN MUNICH V LIVERPOOL
8pm What a massive game this is! It’s perfectly set up after a 0-0 in the first leg and you’d have to say that Bayern would have been delighted with that result and now expect to go and win the tie tonight. Liverpool created very little in the first leg which was a surprise given their excellent form at home this season, and now they face an uphill task to beat Bayern in their own backyard. Bayern aren’t the force of years gone by but they are still a top quality team and it’ll be very interesting to see who comes out on top – there isn’t much between the sides in the ‘To Qualify’ market with both trading very close to evens. Bayern Munich are 1.96 and Liverpool are 2.02.
In the match odds market, the odds at the time of writing currently trade; Bayern Munich 2.16, Liverpool 3.7 and the draw is also 3.7. Liverpool had a good win at the weekend against Burnley however they have been struggling away from home, drawing 0-0 with Everton and Manchester United recently and perhaps that it where the tie will be won tonight. We can see Bayern just creating more chances than Liverpool and they are worth backing at 2.16 in front of their own fans.
