PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s Premier League games with recommended BETDAQ bets and extended stats. It’s EVERTON v MAN U, ARSENAL v PALACE and then the all-important CARDIFF v LIVERPOOL at 4pm.
EVERTON V MANCHESTER UNITED
1.30pm It’s another massive day in the Premier League with so much at on the line at the top of the table with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool all in action. We kick off the day with Everton hosting Manchester United who have gone on a poor run of form since Solskjaer was given the position permanently. It was very hard to see them coping with Barcelona; however their Premier League performances have been worrying lately. They were “lucky” to win against West Ham and Watford recently – and after losing 2-1 away from home to Wolves in the FA Cup, they repeated the same scoreline in the League.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Everton 3.3, Manchester United 2.38 and the draw is 3.5. Everton won’t be looking forward to this fixture – they’ve lost more games to United than any other Premier League side in the history of the competition. They have many reasons to be confident though because United look very ‘beatable’ at the moment – especially away from home, and they have had some recent success against them. We feel that United are at least ten ticks too short at 2.38 looking at the way they have been playing lately and we’re happy to lay them at the odds – it’s just hard to have confidence in this United side.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Manchester United at 2.38.

MATCH STATS
- Everton have lost more Premier League matches against Manchester United than any side has against another in the history of the competition (36).
- Following a run of three straight away defeats against Everton without scoring a single goal, Manchester United have won two of their last three top-flight games at Goodison Park (D1).
- In their meeting earlier this season, Manchester United scored their 100th Premier League goal against Everton in a 2-1 victory, making them just the second side to net 100+ goals against a single opponent in the competition (also Arsenal against Everton).
- Everton’s only previous league win, and Man Utd’s only previous league defeat on Easter Sunday came in this exact fixture in the 2013-14 campaign (Everton 2-0 Man Utd).
- After a run of just one home win in eight Premier League games, Everton have won their last two at Goodison Park.
- Everton have won their last two home Premier League games against ‘big six’ sides, as many as they had in their previous 19 in the competition (W2 D7 L10). They last won three home league games in a row against such opponents in the competition in March 2012.
- Manchester United have lost their last two Premier League away games – they’ve not lost three in a row on the road since January 1996.
- Anthony Martial has scored in each of his last three Premier League games Everton – the last Man Utd player to score in four straight matches against a single opponent was Wayne Rooney vs Hull in November 2014.
- Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored seven Premier League goals as a player against Everton – against no side did he net more in the competition.
- Paul Pogba is Man Utd’s highest scorer in the Premier League this season with 13 goals. It’s the most in the competition by a French player in a season for Man Utd since Eric Cantona in 1995-96 (14), while seven of his goals have been penalties – only Ruud van Nistelrooy (8 in 2002-03) has scored in a single campaign for the Red Devils.
- Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson has been directly involved in seven Premier League goals against Man Utd (4 goals, 3 assists) – against no side has he been involved in more. However, all four of his goals scored against them have come at Old Trafford.
ARSENAL V CRYSTAL PALACE
4pm Not many punters were giving Arsenal a chance away from home against Napoli on Thursday night but they came away with a solid 1-0 win. A very surprising result given how dodgy they have looked away from home recently. At home is a different story though and it’s very hard to see them not beating this Crystal Palace side – Arsenal have now won their last ten home Premier League games and a win here would see them produce a club record of 11 home wins in a single season.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 1.54, Crystal Palace 6.8 and the draw is 4.7. Crystal Palace have been playing some good football away from home this season – and it is badly needed considering how poor they have been at home – but it’s hard to get away from the Arsenal win at 1.54. They have been nothing short of excellent at home and this is just the type of fixture that they love to turn on the style in. We’re happy to back them at 1.54 and it looks like a BETDAQ Multiple banker this weekend.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Arsenal to beat Crystal Palace at 1.54.

MATCH STATS
- Arsenal have lost just two of their 22 home meetings with Crystal Palace in all competitions (W16 D4), 0-2 in a League Cup game in November 1970 and 1-2 in the Premier League in October 1994.
- Following their 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park earlier this season, Crystal Palace are looking to avoid defeat in both league meetings with Arsenal in a campaign for the first time since 1979-80.
- Arsenal have won each of their last six London derbies at home in the Premier League, their best such run in the competition since 11 straight victories between December 2001 and November 2003.
- Arsenal have won their last 10 home Premier League games – they’ve never won 11 in a row at home within a single top-flight season before.
- Arsenal have won 22 more points at home (44) than they have away (22) in the Premier League this season, the biggest such difference in the competition. However, Crystal Palace have won the highest ratio of their Premier League points this season away from home (59% – 23/39).
- Crystal Palace have alternated between victory and defeat in their last eight Premier League games, losing against Man City last time out. Away from home, the Eagles have won three of their last four in the Premier League (L1).
- No team has played more English league games on Easter Sunday than Arsenal (7), while this will be Crystal Palace’s first ever league game on that day.
- Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic netted two penalties in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Selhurst Park earlier this season. Only three players in Premier League history have netted three penalty goals against an opponent in a single campaign (Graham Alexander v Hull in 2009-10, Robbie Fowler v Sheffield United in 2006-07 and Peter Beardsley v Wimbledon in 1993-94).
- Alexandre Lacazette has scored nine home league goals for Arsenal this season. If he scores here, it will be just the second Premier League season to see two Arsenal players net 10+ home goals (Aubameyang has 11) after the 2004-05 campaign (Thierry Henry 21 and Robert Pires 10).
- Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored more Premier League London derby goals than any other player this season (6).
CARDIFF V LIVERPOOL
4pm Cardiff produced a brilliant 2-0 win away from home against their relegation rivals Brighton on Tuesday night, but unfortunately the fixture list will stop them in their tracks on. Liverpool have been playing some superb football this season and it’s impossible to see anything other than a comfortable Liverpool win here. Cardiff have consistently come up short against the Top Six sides this season and an early goal for Liverpool could see the floodgates open – they are just full of confidence at the moment.
It’s no surprise to see Liverpool heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Cardiff 18.5, Liverpool 1.21 and the draw is 7.8. With Liverpool such a short price to win; we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. Both Teams Not To Score makes a lot of appeal at 1.7 – Liverpool have been excellent at the back recently, they kept a clean sheet against Chelsea and Porto in two of their last three games. They did leak a goal to Porto on Wednesday night, but the tie was over. We can see them keeping a clean sheet here again and while the handicap is tempting, the 1.7 makes more appeal.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Both Teams To Score – No at 1.7.

MATCH STATS
- Cardiff have lost their three Premier League meetings with Liverpool, conceding 13 goals. The Bluebirds have never lost more top-flight matches in a row versus the Reds.
- A Liverpool victory would see Cardiff become the sixth side the Reds will have beaten in each of their first four Premier League meetings after QPR, West Brom, Wigan, Burnley and Brighton.
- Liverpool have won each of their last nine Premier League matches against newly promoted sides, scoring 27 goals and conceding just three. The Reds have never won 10 successive such matches in the competition.
- Cardiff have picked up just two points from their 22 Premier League games against the six ever-present sides in the competition (W0 D2 L20), losing their last 18 in a row against Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs.
- No team has played more English league games on Easter Sunday than Liverpool (7), with the Reds’ only defeat on that day coming in 2008 (0-3 vs Man Utd).
- Liverpool have won their last five Premier League games, with the winning goal each time coming after half-time.
- Cardiff have conceded 5+ goals in three different home league games this season – no side has ever conceded as many in more different home matches in a single Premier League campaign (Derby also 3 in 2007-08).
- Cardiff’s Victor Camarasa has scored in his last two home Premier League games, as many as he had in his first 12 at the Cardiff City Stadium in the competition.
- Mohamed Salah has scored 19 league goals this season, and could become just the third Liverpool player to score 20 in consecutive Premier League campaigns (Robbie Fowler 1994-95 and 1995-96, Luis Suarez 2012-13 and 2013-14).
- Sadio Mane has scored 10 goals in his last 12 Premier League games for Liverpool – coming into this round of matches, no player has scored more Premier League goals in 2019 than the Senegalese forward (10, same as Sergio Aguero).
