PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s three Premier League games starting with LEICESTER v ARSENAL at 12pm, then BURNLEY v MAN CITY at 2.05pm and finally MAN U v CHELSEA at 4.30pm all with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended stats.
LEICESTER V ARSENAL
12pm What a huge day at the top of the Premier League! We have Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all in action and today could go a long way to deciding who will finish in the Top Four. We start with Arsenal visiting Leicester at noon and that same question comes up in every away Arsenal game; can you trust them? They looked to have a very good chance pre-match going into the clash against Wolves on Wednesday night, only to come away 3-1 losers and with Leicester in good form – apart from a shock loss here recently against Newcastle – can you trust Arsenal?
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Leicester 2.78, Arsenal 2.64 and the draw is 3.7. Leicester haven’t exactly been bombproof at home this season; they have lost eight games, but it’s so difficult to get away from laying Arsenal at these odds. They were absolutely terrible away against Wolves during the week and prior to that they were lucky to win away against a ten man Watford team too. Throw in the 3-2 loss at home to Palace and we can’t have this Arsenal price – 2.64 looks like a great lay.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Arsenal at 2.64.

MATCH STATS
- Leicester have won just one of their last 24 Premier League meetings with Arsenal (D7 L16), though it was in this exact fixture last season (3-1).
- Arsenal haven’t lost consecutive away league games against Leicester since November 1983.
- After a run of four consecutive Premier League victories, Leicester are winless in their last two under Brendan Rodgers (D1 L1).
- Leicester have lost eight Premier League home games this season. They’ve only lost more in a single campaign in the competition in 1994-95 (10) and 2001-02 (9).
- Arsenal have lost their last two Premier League games on a Sunday, last losing three such games in a row back in March 2013.
- Arsenal have never lost a Premier League game that has kicked off at 12 noon, winning 15 and drawing four. Their last such match was a 5-1 win at Fulham earlier this season.
- Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers hasn’t lost consecutive home league games at any of his clubs since September 2012, losing vs Arsenal and Manchester United at Anfield as Liverpool boss.
- Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has won just two of his nine Premier League meetings with Arsenal (D3 L4), beating them with Swansea in January 2012 and Liverpool in March 2014. Just two managers have won as many as three Premier League games against the Gunners with each victory coming while in charge of a different club (Chris Hughton and Roy Hodgson).
- Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored three goals in his two league games against Leicester, averaging a goal every 40 minutes against the Foxes.
- Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has scored six goals in his last seven Premier League games against Arsenal – only against Liverpool (7) has he scored more in the competition than he has against the Gunners (6).
BURNLEY V MANCHESTER CITY
2.05pm Fresh off a 2-0 win at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, Manchester City need to keep winning away from home in their bid for the Premier League title. Burnley have been in reasonably good form lately and they won’t be pushovers here – they have scored in their last 12 home games and an early Burnley goal would certainly spice things up! The big problem for Burnley is they have consistently come up short against the Big Six; however with so much pressure on City, can they cause a shock?
The markets don’t think we’ll see a shock, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Burnley 25.0, Manchester City 1.15 and the draw is 10.0. These two sides have already met twice this season, with Manchester City running out 5-0 winners twice! It would be a massive shock to see anything other than a City win here, but we feel that with Burnley playing well and home advantage they can keep things close. Any Other Away Win (Manchester City to score four or more and win) is trading 2.9 and that looks too short; we’re happy to lay those odds.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Any Other Away Win at 2.9.

MATCH STATS
- Burnley are winless in their last seven meetings with Man City in all competitions (D1 L6) since a 1-0 win in March 2015.
- Man City have beaten Burnley 5-0 twice this season in all competitions. No team has ever scored 5+ goals against another three times in a single season in English Football League history.
- Excluding teams to have won the Premier League title themselves, Burnley have the best win ratio against reigning Premier League champions than any other side in the competition’s history (44% – P9 W4 D1 L4).
- 17 of Man City’s last 22 goals in all competitions against Burnley have come in the second half of matches, including eight of their 10 this season.
- Burnley are looking to win three consecutive home league games for the first time since a run of five ending in January 2017.
- Burnley have won just one of their last 15 home Premier League games against ‘big six’ opponents (W1 D2 L12), though it was their last such match at Turf Moor against Tottenham.
- Burnley have scored at least once in their last 12 home Premier League games, their longest such run since their first 15 games at Turf Moor in the competition.
- Man City striker Sergio Aguero has scored eight goals in his last seven meetings with Burnley in all competitions.
- Burnley’s Chris Wood has had a hand in five goals in his last three Premier League games (3 goals, 2 assists), after a run of five games without being involved in any.
- Ashley Barnes has scored 11 Premier League goals for Burnley this season – no player has ever netted more in a single campaign in the competition for the Clarets.
MANCHESTER UNITED V CHELSEA
4.30pm What a huge game in the race for a Top Four finish! Both these sides will be hoping to see Arsenal drop points again earlier today and a loss for either here would be a huge blow regardless of results elsewhere. Chelsea have lost their last six away games against the Big Six; but United come into this clash in terrible form. They may have been outclassed by Manchester City during the week; but they were embarrassing away against Everton prior to that. They can turn things around with a big win here and send the race for the Top Four into the final games – a loss would see United out of it.
We have a very open market with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Manchester United 2.76, Chelsea 2.78 and the draw is 3.5. It’s hard to put your finger on what’s going on in the Old Trafford dressing room at the moment – it seems like Solskjaer really needs a summer clean out! The 2.76 on United doesn’t make any appeal looking at their recent performances, however Chelsea have been pretty poor away from home against the Big Six. We feel that the draw is good value here at 3.5 as we can see both sides cancelling each other out now. It’s definitely worth checking the odds on 1-1 and 2-2 in the Correct Score market closer to kick off too.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Draw at 3.5.
