VINTAGE CROP STAKES NAP: SHAMROCK’S NAP runs in the 1m 6f Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan this afternoon.
Botani couldn’t have been any more impressive when landing the SHAMROCK NAP at Kilbeggan on Friday evening.
Patrick Mullins didn’t have to breathe on the 5/6 favourite as she romped home to a 23 length success !!
I’m now bidding for a NAPS HAT-TRICK TODAY after Hamariyna landed the NAP on Thursday at 11/10.
The Vintage Crop Stakes is one of the highlight’s on today’s Navan card – a race that often throws up a short priced favourite but the 2019 renewal looks a little more competitive with nine runners.
Aidan O’Brien’s two runners dominate the market headed by 2017 Irish Derby and St Leger winner Capri. He’s got daylight between himself and his rivals on official ratings but the niggling doubt is whether he is still the same horse as he once was. He didn’t have a great season last year, although he was competing at a very high level.
I’ll take a chance and oppose him with stable companion Southern France who was sent off favourite for the Cesarewitch but could only finish seventh but he showed his staying class when third to Kew Gardens in the St Leger last season.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Southern France (4.15 Navan)
