BUMPER NAP AT TIPPERARY: SHAMROCK’s bet of the day runs at Tipperary in the concluding mares bumper at 8.20pm.
Mares bumpers can often be uncompetitive but that’s not the case at Tipperary tonight where the bumper looks well above average with seven of the 10 runners previous winners in either bumpers on points.
The old system of relying on Willie and Patrick Mullins in this genre doesn’t go far wrong and it might prove the case again tonight where the partnership team up with Botani who couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Kilbeggan last time out – scoring by 23 lengths and landing the SHAMROCK NAP in the process !!
Patrick Mullins didn’t have to breathe on it that day and although this is a tougher task there is every chance she will improve further so I can’t really oppose her tonight.
Lady Breffni is another unexposed runner from the Joseph O’Brien yard. She won her point at Oldtown in grand style and changed hands for £50,000 after that.
Darrens Hope has more experience and didn’t run at all badly in a Grade 3 race at Punchestown last time out but might be vulnerable to the improves.
