Enable It was after the Cheshire Oaks on May 10th, 2017, that Enable went into the Fortune Cookies list. We’ve had eight Group 1 and one Group 3 wins since and now look forward to the King George (July 27) clash with Anthony Van Dyck, and then the International.
Far Above King George sprint at Goodwood, even the Nunthorpe, possible target after short-neck defeat of unbeaten Andre Fabre 3-y-o (odds on) at Deauville on Sunday (6f) in a time two seconds better than average.
Headman Stepped up to win a Group 2 for us at Saint-Cloud (at 11-5) and bids for a hat-trick on Thursday week (July 18) in the Meld Stakes at Leopardstown.

Le Don De Vie Epsom winner for us on Derby day at 5-1. We await his hat-trick bid.
Liberty Beach I underestimated this one; failed to spot that she’d finished best of the far side in the Queen Mary. She certainly seemed impressive at Sandown and the trainer is talking of the Lowther Stakes next.

Qabala Scoped badly after flopping in the Curragh Guineas. The Falmouth on Thursday would be a snip if she ran to her Newmarket Guineas form, beaten little more than a length by Hermosa.

Too Darn Hot The Prix de la Foret in October, named after Chantilly Forest, is the obvious long-term target over the same trip (7f) as his Sunday success in the Prix Jean Prat at Deauville.
In the meantime, the Irish Guineas runner-up, beaten only about a length in the St James’s Palace Stakes, deserves to try a mile again. The Jacques Le Marois, back at Deauville, is likely to be an easier option than the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.
Also listed: Global Prospector, Joyful Mission, Sir Dragonet, Solage, Wissahickon.
BELIEVE IN INCREDULOUS
2.00 Wolverhampton The handicapper has given Kennocha every chance of following up on her Lingfield success with just a 2lb hike in the weights. However, the form hasn’t worked out too well subsequently and the Amy Murphy stable are on a run of just one winner from their last 17 runners.
Preference goes to the John Quinn trained Tease Maid. The stable are pretty hot at present with 6-26 winners over the past two weeks and Tease Maid was a good close up fourth over course and distance last time out.
She ran quite freely at the front that day and it might well be that more conservative tactics are deployed in the early stages here, which might well make the difference.
2.15 Pontefract The Archie Watson stable continue in good form overall, however it’s interesting to note that their last two odds on favourites have been beaten.
Fashion Free, their runner in the opener at Pontefract looks interesting.
The views on the draw bias at Pontefract are contrary, however being drawn out wide at 13 is certainly no disadvantage on summer fast ground.
Fashion Free is unexposed having only had three starts and should be suited by the drop back to six furlongs having finished fourth in a decent looking novice event at Kempton on the all-weather last time out.
She travelled well in that race and should find the stiff six furlongs here ideal.
It’s a wide open contest in which many can be given a chance, including the Richard Fahey trained The Ginger Bullet who was staying on well at Doncaster last time out and should be suited by the extra distance today.
3.15 Pontefract Clon Coulis attempts a repeat in this Listed for fillies and mares with more to do than when winning last season.
With one exception (the runner-up, giving her 7lb), they were a pretty poor lot a year ago, many rated in the 80s, but today’s challenge includes 102 and 107 rated and five in the 90s.
But Clon Coulis herself is up from 95 that day to 103 after three wins out of four and a nose defeat in the Royal Hunt Cup on the last day.
And the good news is that, for the second time in a Listed since success here 12 months ago, she has got in without a penalty, and receives 3lb from her strongest rival, Billesdon Brook (3.8 offers for a stakes saver this morning).
The 1,000 Guineas winner of 2018 has taken a thumping in four Group 1s since then, failing to score again until dropped to a Listed over 7f at Chelmsford.
Coronation Stakes runner-up in 2018, Threading has been disappointing since and the handicapper has lopped 8lb off her rating. She has won twice at York and could bounce back at the Voltigeur meeting if there’s rain about.
4.30 Wolverhampton Incredulous can continue the good run of form for William Haggas. After a modest debut at Ripon there was plenty to like about her second start at Thirsk when a half length runner up to the Sir Michael Stoute trained Loolwah.
The pair finished four lengths clear of the third and whilst no world beater Incredulous should find this pretty easy if she has improved again since Thirsk which seems pretty likely.
