PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s two Premier League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended stats. It’s EVERTON v WOLVES at 2pm and then the North London derby ARSENAL v SPURS at 4.30pm.
EVERTON V WOLVES
2pm All eyes might be on Arsenal v Tottenham later today but this is a fascinating fixture too. Everton have started the season a little lacklustre and Wolves have had three draws from three games. They have been busy in Europe though; and perhaps they have their eyes on that rather than the start of the Premier League season. It’s hard to see anything other than a very close game here, with two sides who look pretty evenly matched.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Everton 2.22, Wolves 3.85 and the draw is 3.4. Wolves managed to come away with all three points in this fixture last season; despite Everton having a very solid season at home. Wolves have proven to be tough to beat this season, holding Manchester United to a draw along the way. Everton haven’t shown us anything to suggest they should be 2.22 favourites here and we are very happy to lay them from a value point of view. We expect a much closer game than odds of 2.22 suggest.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Everton at 2.22.

MATCH STATS
- Everton lost against Wolves at Goodison Park last season in the Premier League – they are looking to avoid losing back-to-back home league games against Wolves for the first time since 1960.
- Wolves are looking for back-to-back top-flight victories over Everton for the first time since September 1979.
- Wolves have drawn their first three games of a league season for only the second time in their history, alongside the 1938-39 campaign (drew first 4 games).
- Everton have kept a clean sheet in each of their last six Premier League home games, last recording a longer consecutive run of shutouts at Goodison Park between March-September 2013 (a run of seven).
- Everton’s three Premier League games this season have seen a league-low three goals scored, with the Toffees having the joint-worst attack (1 goal) and the joint-best defence (2 goals conceded) in the competition.
- Wolves are just the fourth different team to play none of their opening four games to a Premier League campaign on a Saturday, after Liverpool (1992-93 and 2010-11), Manchester United (2007-08 and 2018-19) and Burnley (2018-19).
- Since the start of last season, no side has gained more points from losing positions in the Premier League than Wolves (16, level with Liverpool). Wolves have come from behind to salvage a point in their last two Premier League matches.
- Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has faced Marco Silva away from home three times previously in league football – twice in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and once in the Premier League – and won all three games.
- Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has completed 90 minutes in all 110 of his Premier League appearances. If he completes the 90 in this match, he’ll jointly hold the record for most Premier League games while playing the full 90 minutes in every one (level with Ali Al Habsi on 111).
- Wolves’ Raúl Jiménez has scored five goals in his four away games in all competitions this season, though all of those strikes have been in Europa League Qualifying.
ARSENAL V TOTTENHAM
4.30pm This is undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend in the Premier League and we have saved the best until last! The North London Derby was has plenty of fireworks and after both sides have suffered setbacks already in the Premier League – a lot is on the line here. Spurs suffered a shock 1-0 win with home advantage against Newcastle last weekend, while Arsenal had a more expected loss away from home against Liverpool.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 2.44, Tottenham 3.0 and the draw is 3.75. Spurs have definitely had the edge over Arsenal in recent seasons; they have only lose twice in the last ten meetings. That would make Arsenal look too short at the current 2.44; however Spurs haven’t really set the world alight yet this season and with Arsenal having home advantage today; we can see the gunners edging out Spurs here. Spurs have to improve if they are going to get that third spot in the Premier League and this is a good test today; however we see Arsenal coming out on top.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Arsenal to beat Tottenham at 2.44.
