MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column is 49 points up since it started. Now for the Australian Open – the first Grand Slam of 2020 and a look at the Men’s Outright market on BETDAQ.
At some point, of course, those that proclaim there will be Men’s Winner outside of the ‘Big Three’ will be proved right. It’s just that it’s been an expensive ‘system’ to follow. The Big Three, in this context Djokovic, Nadal and Federer continue to dominate.

As our five year stats show, only Stan Wawrinka (twice) and Andy Murray (once) have prevented a clean sweep for the Big Three and it’s been virtually a closed shop across all four Slams.
With Andy Murray injured and Stan Wawrinka playing some way below his best – the player most likely to get in the way of yet another Big Three win is Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev is the first of my three ante-post picks on BETDAQ. Don’t forget 0% COMMISSION ON BETDAQ for all tennis markets !!
The Russian is seeded four and faces Frances Tiafoe in what could be a far from one-sided opener. Tiafoe beat Medvedev on clay back in 2015 but the form was turned around last year in Washington on a hard court with Medvedev winning 6-2 7-5.
Medvedev is acutely aware of how hard it is to challenge the Big Three in Slams. He said: “I think playing against them from time to time, especially the further you go in the big tournaments, the more chances you have to play them.
“The more times you play them, the more you know where you are comparing to them. For example, match in ATP Cup, Novak was kind of all over me. I managed to get back, almost win the match. I mean, he still won it. They won the whole ATP Cup. But I felt I was really close.
“Matches like this give you confidence to see that you’re able to do it, but it’s really tough.”
Elsewhere Novak Djokovic has to be the insurance option, such is his incredible record in Melbourne.
Djokovic bids to win the Australian Open title for the eighth time and the bad news for his opponents is that he couldn’t be in better form having won every match as Serbia claimed the ATP Cup a week ago.
My third and final selection is Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek Player, now ranked 6 after winning three titles in 2019, is emerging as one of the brightest prospects on the tour. He reached the semi-finals here 12 months ago and is now a better player. At 6 foot 4 and aged just 21 he could easily trouble the Big Three.
