GROUP 3 ACTION LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK heads to Leopardstown on Saturday where the feature race is the Group 3 Meld Stakes at 5.15.
The Meld Stakes over 1m 1f is today’s Group 3 feature on the Leopardstown card.
Warm favourite is the English raider Zabeel Prince who should find this level much easier after competing at (and winning once) at Group 1 level in his last four races.
This looks a good opportunity for the Roger Varian trained runner who has run well after a break before and should appreciate the give in the ground.
He’s got a quite a bit in hand on official ratings but there will be strong challenges from the two hat-trick seekers Ancient Spirit and Patrick Sarsfield who are both stepping up in class.
