MATCH OVERVIEW:

We have another action packed Sunday to enjoy at the Caribbean Premier League and we start the day with Barbados Tridents taking on the St Lucia Zouks. Barbados will still feel robbed after not winning against Trinbago yesterday. They posted a reasonably good score of 148/7 and had Trinbago 77/6 at one point only to lose the game from there. They traded lower than 1.1 in-running! Trinbago just have that winning vibe though and are unbeaten in the tournament – it was a good performance from Barbados.

If Barbados can play like that again today they will beat this Zouks side. The Zouks have surprised everyone with their improvement this season after a woefully poor season last year. Their batting has improved a lot, however you can still see that bowling is a weakness. The batsmen have gone so well that they’ve had good scores to defend and they sit happily in second.

This is a big game for both sides. All teams have played six games now and the Zouks sit two points clear in second. A loss here for Barbados will see them in trouble as they’ve only managed two wins from six so far.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

148/7 was chased in the early game yesterday but I feel we shouldn’t read too much into that. Barbados traded lower than 1.1 at one point and they should have closed out the game from 77/6. Trinbago are just having a great season and that’s what confidence does – you win from nowhere! Pollard hit nine sixes in an innings of 72 off 28 balls. That just can’t happen every day, and I would suggest if anyone scores close to 150 in the first innings today, they should win the game.

We have had a few minor weather worries in the early games, so keep an eye on the radar too.

RECOMMENDED BET:

This is a very interesting game and a very interesting market! On paper Barbados look the stronger side but they just aren’t winning games like the Zouks. Granted they were very unlucky yesterday but their bowling has been an issue all tournament. They need more support for Rashid Khan. If you look at the bowling figures yesterday, Trinbago basically saw off Rashid and Santner and went to town on the other bowlers.

The Zouks can be taken advantage of when bowling too, but I see this as a real 50/50 game. I think the Zouks are worth having a small bet on at 2.2 as they look the value in what should be a very close game.

The Edge Says:
One point win St Lucia Zouks to beat Barbados Tridents at 2.2 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

This game is going to be difficult to trade because obviously batting conditions are very tough, and both sides strong point is their batting. There’s been so many wickets falling in every game, it’s hard to trade the batting side for long. This is just have to be a case of picking your spots when you have market momentum and the risk is low. That being said, the risk of a wicket on this pitch is always high!

The approach Jamaica took last night is definitely the blueprint on how to play cricket here. A low and steady approach with a possible dart at the end. If you get 130 in the bank, you’re still in the game to defend if you bowl well and if you push up to 150 then you have the game within your hands.
