WATFORD V MIDDLESBROUGH
7.45pm The Championship returns on Friday night and we have an excellent fixture to kick things off! It hasn’t been a normal summer, of course that statement applies to the whole world not just the football transfer market! However, it has allowed Watford to keep a lot of their squad and although the Championship is fiercely competitive they will have big hopes of returning to the Premier League straight away.
We have seen some changes at Watford. They lost a key player when Doucoure went to Everton and they will need Troy Deeney to stay. They have changed manager, but you have to feel looking at their squad they have a very good chance of going back up – granted it’s a very difficult league. It will be very interesting to see how Middlesbrough get on after a rollercoaster last season.
Neil Warnock has done a brilliant job with Middlesbrough, as you would expect him to really, they should have been fighting to stay up in the first place. They should finish mid-table again this season, but who knows if that will be good enough to keep jobs or see big squad changes these days.
Watford were unlucky to go down last season in my opinion. xG had them in the top half of the table – even on the last day, they beat Arsenal 4.42 to 2.16 on xG but lost the game 3-2. They will clearly have to take their chances if they want to succeed in the Championship but they can outclass this Middlesbrough side to start the season. 2.06 looks good value and worth backing.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Watford to beat Middlesbrough at 2.06 with BETDAQ Exchange.
