In the Women’s Final of the US Open I’m struggling to see beyond the favourite Naomi Osaka getting the better of Victoria Azarenka.
Azarenka took an age to get going in her semi-final match against Serena Williams where she was woefully out of form in the first set losing 6-1 but stormed back to win the next two sets, both 6-3.
2018 Champion Osaka also needed three sets to get past rising star Jennifer Brady in her semi-final and feels she has a better mental approach to game compared to when she won here two years ago.
She said: “I feel like my mindset is much different this time around.
“I feel like I’ve learned so much through the ups and downs, not even counting the finals, but just regular Tour tournaments.
“Mentally I feel stronger. I feel fitter now. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.”
Osaka holds a 2-1 head to head record over Azarenka but on their only previous meeting on a hard court Azarenka won 6-1 6-1 in the 2016 Australian Open.
Osaka is a different player these days and the 9 year younger Osaka should prevail in straight sets at around 2.3 on the BETDAQ Sportsbook.
