DAQMAN 42-25 AHEAD OF PRICEWISE WITH A SATURDAY DOUBLE: No big-odds strikes on Daqman’s day for a flutter yesterday but, if the definition of success is beating Pricewise at his own game, then it was another high day as Daqman won 2-0 in a three-race head-to-head. This takes the winners score to 42-25, with Daqman showing a profit of 56.86, Pricewise down by 129.84 points.

✔️ WON 5-2 DANYAH
✔️ WON 9-5 HIGH DEFINITION

PARIS COUNTDOWN NEXT WEEK: PORTRAIT OF THE ARC RUNNERS: Look out next week for daily bulletins and Daqman’s profiles on the contenders for the Arc de Triomphe championship of Europe today week at Longchamp, which this year has the makings of the best for years. Today’s headlines:

🔹 I’LL RUN ARC FIVE, SAYS O’BRIEN
🔹 THINKING OF PLACE IN THE PARK
🔹 MODMIN MARK GIFT FOR MARCUS
🔹 KEANE ON A CURRAGH BREAKFAST
🔹 MANDATE GIVES BECKETT CHOICE

I’LL RUN ARC FIVE, SAYS O’BRIEN

⚠️ HEADS UP: Aidan O’Brien said last night that he could run five in next Sunday’s Arc De Triomphe, with his likely line-up and probable riders: Love (Ryan Moore), Mogul (Mickael Barzalona), Serpentine (Christophe Soumillon), Japan (Colin Keane), Sovereign (Seamie Heffernan).

⚠️ HEADS UP: Current front of the market (BETDAQ Sportsbook): 2.37 Love; 2.87 Enable; 13 Magical, Mogul; 15 Raabibah, Serpentine, Stradivarius, Sottsass; 17 Gahaiyyath, Tarnawa; 21 Persian King.

THINKING OF PLACE IN THE PARK

⭕ 2.00 The Curragh (Park Stakes) Generally winners of this Park Stakes remain Group 3 at best but Hermosa (2018) was special and won two Guineas the following year.

Dermot Weld, who won the Park Stakes in 2016 with Eziyra, will expect to find a prize for A Ma Chere, not entirely disgraced when twice beaten by Shale, including in the Moyglare. Shale could be the special one this year.

Aunty Bridy was down the field alongside A Ma Chere in the Moyglare, and either one of them could boost the form.

No Speak Alexander was runner-up to Monday at Leopardstown before that one was beaten 10 lengths at Newmarket on Friday.

But you’d hope for either Angel Palm and Thinking Of You. They go into this with records intact, and success would be more than a boost for something else.

Of the two, I prefer Thinking Of You (BETDAQ 8.0 win and place), who had to work hard from an awkward draw at Limerick and should have learned a lot.

MODMIN MARK GIFT FOR MARCUS

⭕ 2.05 Nottingham Modmin looks leniently rated on 80. He got within threeparts of a length of Jumaira Bay (89) first run back; then won as he pleased by eight lengths at Goodwood.

Beat nothing well that day but the time of the race was good and he has another 89-rated, Itkaan, giving him 9lb today from the top of the handicap.

Leading jockey at Nottingham, Jim Crowley, has been booked by trainer Marcus Tregoning. That’s a rare match: they’ve been together only twice before this season and the score is 2-2; two runners, two wins; 100%. I took 2.87 Modmin, then found a similar situation in the next race at The Curragh.

KEANE ON A CURRAGH BREAKFAST

⭕ 2.30 The Curragh Five-time-winner A Step Too Far and Goodnight Girl, separated a neck when one-two at Cork 11 days back, meet again with Goodnight Girl better off at the weights.

But I was taken with the improvement made – also at Cork – by Breakfast Club (formerly with Richard Hannon), probably enjoying the change of stables to Denis Hogan.

Colin Keane never had to get serious on him and takes the ride again today on a course which will suit even better. Hogan and Keane are 2-2 (100%) on the course this season. BETDAQ 3.25 taken.

MANDATE GIVES BECKETT CHOICE

⭕ 3.00 Chester Richard Hannon will be hoping for a hat-trick from Kool Moe Dee, who might have been a 40-1 shock winner of the Weatherbys Super Sprint had not her saddle slipped and her stablemate Happy Romance (Cheveley Park fourth yesterday) stole the huge prize.

Kool Moe Dee gives weight away all round here, including 10lb to the local CD winner, Harmony Lil, who got the better of front-running St Benedict over course and distance earlier this month.

But the one who catches my eye in this nursery is first-time-in-a-handicap Rhoda’s Choice (BETDAQ 13.0), one of five runners at Chester today for Ralph Beckett.

Beckett has had 10 winners in the last fortnight, notably with a two-year-old yesterday, when New Mandate landed a gamble in the Royal Lodge Stakes.

He’s had 17 juvenile turf winners this term at a higher strike-rate than that of either Hannon or Dascombe.

Beckett has another in a nursery, Fabilis at Nottingham (1.00). The son of Frankel has to give weight all round but was impressive at Chepstow.
