DERBY COUNTY V WATFORD
7.45pm The International Break has been and gone, and Friday Night League comes from the Championship this week at the start of a busy weekend on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We kick off the weekend with Derby County hosting Watford who have been adjusting to life in the Championship. You always read that clubs plan to “bounce back quickly” after coming down from the Premier League, but the reality is it’s much more difficult than just saying it.
The Championship is probably the most open, and entertaining league, in Europe and it’s always a difficult job to just “bounce back.” After a positive start, Watford recorded their first loss against Reading before the International Break. They might be cause for alarm bells, as Reading only finished 14th last season – although they have started with four wins in a row. Watford could only draw 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday who finished 16th last season.
Derby County finished mid-table last season after finishing 6th two seasons in a row prior to that. This will actually be a good indicator as to where Watford stand in the Championship. A smooth win and you’d imagine they will challenge towards the top of the table while if they struggle it might be a sign that they won’t be going back up. Based on the early stages, I think we’ll see Watford in the Play-offs but towards the final positions rather than closer to the automatic spots.
Derby lost their opening three games before recording a surprise 1-0 win away from home against Norwich. We all how just how poor Norwich were in the Premier League, and losses against Blackburn 4-0, Luton 2-1 and Reading 2-0 ring the alarm bells for Derby. Watford should outclass this Derby side, and the 2.3 on the away win is worth having a small investment on to start the weekend.
The Striker Says:
One point win Watford to beat Derby County at 2.3 with BETDAQ Exchange.
