LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Tuesday’s La Liga games between REAL SOCIEDAD v ATLETICO MADRID and REAL VALLADOLID v BARCELONA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

REAL SOCIEDAD V ATLETICO MADRID

6.45pm We have a superb midweek fixture list in La Liga before we head into the small Christmas break this season and we start with Real Sociedad hosting Atletico Madrid. Sociedad started the season really strongly and were clear at one stage playing some excellent football. The others had some games in hand on them, but a poor run of results has seen Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid overtake them. Apart from Barcelona, the games were very winnable for Sociedad and they must be disappointed. They dropped points against Levante, Eibar, Alaves and Villarreal. Only Villarreal would have been a tough fixture on paper as the others are towards the bottom of the table.

Sociedad haven’t stopped creating chances so they can take hope that they can turn things around quickly. Their run without a win is longer if you include the Europa League. I’ve said this before but this is Atletico’s season to lift the title. Barcelona are really struggling, and although they lost against Real Madrid recently Atletico are still ahead of them on goal difference with two games in hand. If they want to lift the title; they have to win games like this. Atletico have impressed me this season and while I do rate Sociedad, I feel this is a good time to back Atletico with Sociedad on a poor run at the moment. Atletico look very good value at 2.46.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Atletico Madrid to beat Real Sociedad at 2.46 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

REAL VALLADOLID V BARCELONA

9pm Barcelona dropped more points at the weekend at home to Valencia. I was slightly surprised, as looking at their xG figures I thought they would get the job done as they were coming into some decent form. They created an xG of 2.56 going forward but unfortunately gave away an xG of 1.99. They are having a very poor season, and if they don’t start putting wins together the title will be gone by the end of January. Then they also have the massive issues of trying to keep Messi while the transfer window is open – perhaps the best option is to let him go now as the situation is clearly not helping the team. Everyone loses stars and has to re-build at some stage.

Valladolid will start this round of fixture sitting in the bottom three, but you can still get 1.45 on Barcelona on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Even with all their issues this season, you have to admit it’s hard to get away from a price like that. Valladolid had a very poor start to the season, and they have improved in recent weeks so I can understand why there are plenty of layers out for Barcelona. I’m going to keep stakes reasonably small given the season they are having, but I can’t skip this Barcelona price. Valladolid are a poor side, and Barcelona should beat them while not even being close to their best.
