WEEK AHEAD: A busy week of football lies ahead and is accompanied by top tier golf and some mouthwatering cricket action.
There’s no sign of January blues in terms of sport this week with another action-packed seven days.
The penultimate tie of the FA Cup fourth round sees Tottenham travel to Championship side Wycombe Wanderers as Jose Mourinho plots yet another deep run in an English domestic cup.
The final game of the round sees League Two side Crawley Town, the side to knock out Leeds in the last round, travel to Championship highflyers Bournemouth on Tuesday evening. Both ties are live on BT Sport.
Earlier in the day, there’s Test cricket live on Sky Sports as Pakistan and South Africa begin their two-test series in Karachi.
Then the Premier League takes centre stage again with all 10 midweek games being shown on BT Sport on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday, Southampton and Arsenal take each other on again, just three days after the Saints knocked out the north London side in the FA Cup.
Wolves’ visit to Stamford Bridge headlines the Wednesday fixtures, while there’s a huge game on Thursday (8pm) as Jürgen Klopp’s stumbling Liverpool side face Tottenham.
Elsewhere on Thursday it’s the first day of both the Dubai Desert Classic on the European Tour with Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner, Tyrrell Hatton, seeking to go back-to-back.
Over in America on the PGA Tour, it’s the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines with Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm both in the field.
Onto the weekend and there’s another bumper set of Premier League fixtures with Arsenal and Manchester United’s clash at the Emirates (5.30pm, Sky Sports) the highlight. Will United continue to set the pace at the top of the table?
There are four more games on Sunday, including Liverpool’s trip to West Ham, while we’ll see the culmination of both aforementioned golf events in Dubai and America.
On paper, this is another week of sport not to be missed.
