SWANSEA V MANCHESTER CITY
5.30pm It’s day two of the FA Cup Fifth Round and we have some excellent fixtures this evening. We start the evening with Swansea hosting Man City, who are the shortest price of any side in the Fifth Round! They are currently trading as short as 1.26 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange and who can blame the market as they are in excellent form. Fans of xG would have noticed them hitting form a couple of weeks ago and they have been faultless – it looks like they have the Premier League title won after a 4-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend as it’s highly unlikely Man United are good enough to catch them and they are the closest challenger.
It will be interesting to see what kind of teams we get here. I’m sure Pep Guardiola will choose to rest a number of his star players given the busy fixture list. We have the Champions League starting back next week too; although City aren’t playing their fixture until the 25th. What will Swansea decide to do, too? They are right in the mix to win the Championship, only two points behind the leaders Norwich with a game in hand. Given the Premier League riches, we could see some players rested – especially as a win against City seems unrealistic. With everything going on, this is a game for small stakes for me. However, I like Both Teams Not To Score at 1.66. Swansea are good in the Championship, but they don’t have impressive xG figures going forward and I feel City can keep a clean sheet.

- This is the first meeting between Swansea and Man City since their only previous FA Cup tie against each other in March 2019, the Citizens winning 3-2 en route to winning the trophy.
- Manchester City have won 12 of their last 14 meetings with Swansea in all competitions (D2), including each of the last six in a row.
- Swansea have reached the FA Cup quarter-final in two of the last three seasons (2017-18 and 2018-19), having not reached the last eight since 1964 previously.

LEICESTER V BRIGHTON
7.30pm We have an all Premier League clash next as Leicester host Brighton. Once again, it will be interesting to see what kind of starting XI’s we get here given how clubs view the FA Cup these days. Both sides had to settle for a draw at the weekend, with Wolves holding Leicester to a 0-0 draw and Brighton managing a 1-1 draw with Burnley. The draw between Wolves and Leicester was very fair looking at xG; while Brighton were very lucky to get a draw with Burnley with xG finishing 2.11 to 0.63 to Burnley. That was surprising, as Brighton have been playing their best football of the season at the moment with wins over Liverpool and Spurs.
I don’t see any reason why Brighton wouldn’t play their best XI here. They have put a bit of distance between themselves and the relegation battle with recent wins and a Cup run would be great for the club. Anything short of the best XI would be very disappointing. It’s different for Leicester as they are battling for a top four spot and are in a great position with Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea off the pace this season. I think Leicester might choose to rest some players and with Brighton playing some good football (hopefully improve against Burnley!), I like a small lay on Leicester at odds on.

EVERTON V TOTTENHAM
8.15pm Harry Kane returned for Spurs at the weekend with a goal and a win – after some woeful performances without him it shows how much they rely on him. No amount of money is big enough for them to let him go in my opinion. A question I can’t answer is what’s going on with Bale and Mourinho? Bale wasn’t brought on and made a few faces for the cameras on the bench. That’s one to watch! For tonight, it’s no surprise we have the most open market of the evening as we should have a very close game. Everton were involved in a six goal thriller at the weekend in Old Trafford, grabbing a draw in the 95th minute.
It’s hard to believe it wasn’t so long ago Spurs were thought of as title challengers; now they are 16 points behind the leaders Man City. That shows how many points they have dropped and how poor they have been at times. Mourinho really needs Son and Kane to fire; and will he risk them in an FA Cup game too? There shouldn’t be much between these two; there’s only one point between them in the league table but for me I feel Everton are worth backing at 2.8. They are the more solid side heading into this tie and Spurs will have to be at their best to beat them – and I don’t see that happening. Team selection will be very interesting from Mourinho, and trading the team news could be a big angle here.
