LA LIGA / SERIE A SUNDAY PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between BARCELONA V CADIZ, AC MILAN V INTER MILAN and ATHLETIC BILBAO V VILLARREAL all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V CADIZ
1pm We have some cracking games right across Europe today and we start in La Liga with Barcelona hosting Cadiz. Messi and Co will still be licking their wounds after a 4-1 hammering from PSG midweek in the Champions League. Everything seemed to be going well for Barcelona before that as they came into the game in great form and took a 1-0 lead through Messi. It was 1-1 at HT however, and PSG went through them like a hot knife through butter in the second half. That will be a huge blow for them, even though the second leg gives them a small chance to come back, because their chances of winning La Liga already appear to be gone.
Cadiz have contributed to Barcelona’s position too, as they have already beaten them 2-1 this season when Barcelona were playing very poor football. They have improved a lot since and their xG figures have been very impressive in La Liga. This is a good time for them to meet Cadiz as they come into this fixture in bad form. They had an excellent start to the season but have slid right down the table after recent losses. That being said, I wouldn’t exactly be lumping on Barcelona at odds of 1.18 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. That price is just too short given how Barcelona have approached this season! Cadiz have conceded a lot of goals recently – 17 in their last five games – and with Barcelona usually playing an open game of football I like goals here. Over 3.5 goals is the call at 2.14.

AC MILAN V INTER MILAN
2pm A massive fixture. It’s a top of the table clash in Serie A as AC Milan and Inter Milan meet with so much at stake. AC Milan have been having an excellent season and they have topped the table for quite a while – they had a decent advantage at one stage too however two recent losses to Atalanta and Spezia have seen Inter overtake them at the top. Now Inter have a one point lead, and with a six points gap back to Roma in third at the start of the weekend it seems the title will go to Milan this season; which side is the question! There’s no doubting the fact that AC Milan have been the underdogs this season even allowing for their time at the top of the table – most Italian football fans would have expected Inter or Juventus to catch them, however a win for AC here would make the title run in much more interesting!
Juventus actually have a game in hand on both these sides, so they will be hoping for a draw and hopefully close the eight (or nine after a draw before they play Monday) point gap. AC Milan had a disappointing 2-2 draw midweek in the Europa League, while Inter come into the fixture well rested having finished last in their Champions League Group this season. They have been very impressive recently while you get the feeling that AC Milan are having a mini-crisis at the moment. This is the time to back Inter in my opinion as they are the in-form side and have a lot in their favour today. I’m surprised to see them odds against, and the 2.04 is well worth backing.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V VILLARREAL
8pm We head back to La Liga for Athletic Bilbao against Villarreal to end a fascinating day in Europe. This fixture might not have the glamour of the other two earlier today, but it’s a very interesting market. Villarreal played well on Thursday night in the Europa League, but they are out of form domestically at the moment. They are without a win in five games, and although they were unlucky to draw with Granada, they have been creating a lot. They created an xG of 0.64 against Huesca and then 0.30 against Real Sociedad. We have a very open market here, and I believe Athletic Bilbao are the value at 2.7.
Athletic Bilbao are an average mid-table La Liga side, and they are eight points off Villarreal, but tonight seems like a good opportunity to back them. They come into the fixture in good form having won 4-0 last weekend, and they should have beaten Valencia prior to that fixture. They have been scoring a lot and creating a lot lately, and if you had one negative about Villarreal is that they have too many draws. Perhaps the best option is to lay Villarreal given they have had 12 draws from 23 games but Athletic Bilbao can create enough to win here and the 2.7 is worth a small back to end a superb day.
