MANCHESTER CITY V SOUTHAMPTON
6pm While all eyes will be on the Champions League tonight, we have a nice Premier League game to wet the appetite beforehand! Manchester City host Southampton as they aim to bounce back quickly from their 2-0 loss here against Manchester United at the weekend. City will be annoyed to lose their winning run, and also annoyed to lose to their city rivals but in the grand scheme of things it won’t make much difference as they are still 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
They have had a very busy schedule recently as they had two midweek games to catch up on in-between their Champions League Last 16 tie. I noted in my preview on Sunday that it would have been excellent for them to beat United at the weekend and really put the title to bed. I don’t think anyone can see them losing from here, but it would have been nice if they could really rest some players and focus on the Champions League. After all, that has always been a massive aim for Guardiola at City.
Southampton finally got back to winning ways at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United, and while they didn’t deserve to be on a losing run we must remember it was over Sheffield United who have been poor this season. It’s hard to see anything bar a City win here and the market agrees as they are trading as short as 1.22 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.
City let us down at the weekend against United, but they did land a nice 4.1 shot for us against Wolves in the game before that. That was any Any Other Home Win in the Correct Score market and I think we can land the same bet again here. It’s worth backing at 3.5 or bigger. Looking at the xG figures, Southampton have been conceding chances lately and if City are in the mood we should see a lot of goals here. Guardiola will want a reaction after the United loss too and I feel the 3.5 is a much better option than the handicap for example.
The Striker Says:
One point win Any Other Home Win at 3.5 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
