DORTMUND V EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
2.30pm Saturday’s in Europe are back with a massive bang as we have some fantastic matches today! It’s a massive day in the Bundesliga today, with Dortmund playing Frankfurt here and then RB Leipzig hosting Bayern Munich later. This is a huge fixture for Dortmund, who have another huge fixture on Tuesday against Manchester City in the Champions League. Within a week, their season could be over or they could be flying high. Frankfurt currently sit in 4th place in the Bundesliga, four points ahead of Dortmund. A win here would very likely put the top four question to bed.
It’s fair to say that Dortmund haven’t been themselves this season. However, it must be noted they did massively overperform compared to their xG figures last season. The reality this season is they have given away too many chances and thus too many goals. They have improved lately because they were very poor a while ago, but I can’t have them at odds on here. The 1.82 looks much too short against a rock solid Frankfurt side. The other markets I was interested in were Both Teams To Score and over 2.5 as this game screams goals – but they look priced fairly at around 1.5 or thereabouts. I feel Frankfurt will make this game much closer than odds of 1.82 suggest on Dortmund and they look a good value lay.

REAL MADRID V EIBAR
3.15pm Next we move to La Liga with Real Madrid still trying to close the gap at the top of the table. All three sides, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid went into the International break off the back of a win, so that leaves Real still six points behind Atletico. Eibar are fighting for their lives in the bottom three, and things are quite tight between the bottom five so perhaps they aren’t an ideal team for Real to face. This can be a very tricky fixture, and I feel that’s reflected in the odds. It’s not often you’d see Real as big as 1.39 at home to a bottom three side but the match odds market looks very close to being priced correctly here.
We will have to look to the side markets for some value. I feel this a massive opportunity for Real though and surely they will feel that too. Atletico have to travel to take on Sevilla tomorrow and that’s a tricky fixture – so a win here to close the gap is very important. While Eibar are in the bottom three, they do manage to create chances. I feel they deserve to be where they are, but given how poor Real have been at the back this season I can see Eibar scoring. This is a game for small stakes as we look to the side markets, but Both Teams To Score looks the value call at 2.1.

RB LEIPZIG V BAYERN MUNICH
5.30pm What a fixture to enjoy on Saturday afternoon! There’s no doubt these two are the best two clubs in Germany and the Bundesliga table reflects that. This is the title decider with Bayern starting the game four points ahead. If Bayern win, a seven point lead won’t be turned around while if Leipzig can win a one point lead would make the run-in fascinating! I’m sure most neutral fans will be supporting Leipzig today, but it’s also not often that we can get 2.48 on Bayern Munich to win in the Bundesliga. Bayern haven’t been at their best this season, they might have an eye on their Champions League fixture on Wednesday against PSG and they also have injury worries. It’s fair to say that this is an excellent chance for Leipzig, can they take it?
Sometimes it can be tough with the International break, however Bayern come into this game in great form. They have been on a winning run since beating Lazio in the Champions League and they have been banging in the goals for fun lately in the Bundesliga. I know Dortmund haven’t been at their best this season, but they brushed them aside recently with a 4-2 win. Their xG figures have been very impressive, and while Leipzig have been playing some good football – perhaps their performances against Liverpool in the Champions League and a draw with Frankfurt are a sign that they just aren’t a top quality side yet. I know Leipzig have a couple of things in their favour today, but I can’t pass up the chance to back Bayern at odds of 2.48, especially with 0% commission.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V REAL SOCIEDAD
8.30pm We finish the day with the Copa Del Rey final from the 2019/20 season! It will be a fantastic month for Athletic Bilbao as they play the final against Real Sociedad here and then they play the 2020/21 final against Barcelona in two weeks’ time. I say a fantastic month, but it could also be a terrible month if they lose both games! They won’t fancy their chances too much against a Barcelona side who are finishing the season very strongly, but they have to take their chance against Real Sociedad here. Sociedad started the season on fire, but they have fallen away since. They have held onto fifth position in La Liga, but they are ten points behind the top four and you have Real Betis and Villarreal catching up too.
Bilbao have an excellent chance of victory here in my opinion. Sociedad got hammered 6-1 by Barcelona before the International break and to be fair a loss against Barcelona is always expected, they also lost 1-0 to Granada only creating an xG of 0.38. Bilbao might not be getting results in La Liga at the moment, but their xG figures are good. They should have beaten Eibar before the International break, finishing the game with an xG of 1.84 and they also should have beaten Levante and Villarreal as their xG figures read 2.4 and 2.56. They are creating chances – they just need to take them! It’s hard to see anything other than a very close game here, but Bilbao look the more likely winners for me and the 2.86 looks a nice value price to end the day.
