WEEK AHEAD: Snooker, Darts, IPL, and midweek Premier League games fill an action-packed week, which is capped off by the League Cup Final at Wembley.

The week gets started on Monday with the World Snooker Championship on Monday with coverage starting on BBC at 13:00. The action will be live from the Crucible daily on the BBC as Ronnie O’Sullivan goes about his title defence. There’s more action from the IPL with Chennai and Rajasthan in action later in the evening before Leeds host Liverpool, where Marcelo Bielsa’s side attempt to make it four straight wins in the Premier League for the first time in 20 years. Also on Monday evening, you can see the action from the Premier League Darts on Sky Sports, where the coverage runs daily at 19:00 until Thursday.

Tuesday brings another IPL fixture in the shape of Delhi and current champions Mumbai on Sky Sports and then a headline Premier League fixture in Chelsea and Brighton at Stamford Bridge at 20:00.

The IPL is a mainstay of the week for sporting fans and Wednesday is no different as the Kings XI are in action against the Sunrisers in the morning before Kolkata and Chennai take afternoon honours. Later in the evening, Aston Villa and Premier League winners-elect Manchester City are in action on Sky Sports.

Thursday is the start of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where all four days can be seen on Sky Sports, and after the thrills of the Masters this should keep the blues at bay for golfing fans. Leicester are in action against West Brom later in the evening and their Premier League fixture can be seen on BT Sport at 20:00.

Friday brings us gently into the weekend where the action starts to heat up. Arsenal are live from the Emirates on Sky Sports as they play host to Everton before Liverpool and Newcastle begin Saturday’s action. They are live on BT Sport from Anfield at 12:30, while the final day of the Jump Racing season is available on ITV from 13:30, where either Harry Skelton or Brian Hughes will be crowned Champion jockey. West Ham and Chelsea face off in the first of two Premier League games in the evening, with Sheffield United and Brighton taking up the other spot at 20:00.

Sunday is the day with a bit of everything. The action from the World Snooker Championship intensifies on BBC while it’s the third fixture of the week for Chennai in the IPL as they face Bangalore. Wolves and Burnley get the afternoon started with their Premier League fixture on BBC before normal service resumes and we’re off to Sky Sports for Leeds and Manchester United at 14:00. However, these can just be considered the warm-up games as we are treated to the first final of 2021 as Manchester City and Tottenham battle it out in the League Cup. Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho both have fine records in the competition and Pep will take no prisoners in his quest for a 30th career trophy. Rounding out the action is the culmination of the Zurich Classic on Sky Sports, and West Brom’s fixture against Aston Villa will be live on BT Sport at 19:00.

Again, it’s another week of variety for sports fans to savour.
