WEEK AHEAD: A busy midweek of football sets the tone for a cracking Sunday of sport at the end of the week.
It’s a jam-packed week as the season comes to a close, so let’s dive straight into the action.
Monday gets us started with the first legs of the Championship play-off semi-finals. Bournemouth look up against it as they host an in-form Brentford. Barnsley face off against Swansea with the Welsh side having not lost a head-to-head in the last 16 fixtures between the two sides. Both fixtures will be live on Sky Sports at 18:00 and 20:15 respectively.
Tuesday brings us Premier League action in the shape of Manchester United versus Fulham, Southampton versus Leeds, and Brighton, on the back of their League survival, welcoming the newly crowned champions, Manchester City. These games are all the prelude for the late kick-off between Chelsea and Leicester City, a repeat of the FA Cup Final and a crucial game in the race for Champions League football.
The Premier League action continues into Wednesday where there are no less than six fixtures to choose from. Headlining those are Burnley and Liverpool – a must win game for Jurgen Klopp’s side to keep their Champions League dream alive.
Thursday is a rare treat for cricket fans as the County Championship can be seen on Sky Sports as Surrey and Middlesex are in action for their four-day game. All four days are being shown from 11:00. Shortly after play begins at Kiawah Island where the second Major of the year, the PGA Championship, gets underway on Sky Sports, again all the action can be seen daily until Sunday. Friday mirrors these events and pulls us into the weekend nicely for a jam-packed football schedule.
Saturday brings the second legs of the Championship play-off semi-finals, where we will find out who is one step closer to the Premier League. Sunday is the big one, though. Bringing with it the final day’s play from the golf and cricket, the Monaco Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton hopes to get his fourth win of the season, and all 10 Premier League final day fixtures. It is one of sports rare days where there just doesn’t appear to be enough time in the day to get it all in, but it is certainly one to saviour.
