PREVIEW

The newly crowned Carling Cup champions welcome last year’s runners-up to Anfield as the Premier League returns to action following the mid-week internationals. Kenny Dalglish’s side are in the running for a cup double, but Champions League qualification remains the main objective this season.

Liverpool remain unbeaten at home in the league this year, but four wins from 12 matches explains why the club are struggling to finish in the top four. The inability to kill off clubs at Anfield has cost Liverpool dear and before the two cup victories they had failed to win their past two league contests.

At 2-0 down, Arsenal will have been fearing the worst against their North London rivals but an inspired fightback might just be the catalyst for the Gunners’ season. It was a massive three points for the club and it means they’ll head to Merseyside with the belief that they can hand the Reds their first home league defeat.

Robin Van Persie scored his 23rd league goal since August against Spurs and he’ll have his work cut out against a Liverpool back four that have conceded just three times in their past six home league games.

Arsenal carry the momentum into the game and after Liverpool’s unconvincing performance against Cardiff, backing the away win at around 4.1 on BETDAQ is the recommendation.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Arsenal at around 4.1: 3 points
Friday’s Return: +5.10 points
MARCH RETURN TO DATE: +8.90
