DAQMAN’S NAP STRIKES FORM WITH DERBY DREAMS IN MIND: There is a tide in the affairs of Daqman which he thinks will lead on to a fortune, if he can follow up his 100-points-plus profit from THREE Classic winners already. He sets the scene for Epsom today and gives you his Derby countdown next week. Meanwhile, his winning nap yesterday, The Tide Turns (WON 13-8), is followed by one of which dreams are made tonight.

ANOTHER DAY OF JUGGLING STAKES TO KEEP OUT OF TROUBLE: Daqman won five points on the day yesterday from just the one winner, setting up his safety staking plan. He’s up to his tricks again today, setting the final bet to cover all stakes for the rest of the day; same thing with his place bet; but with the nap securing a tidy profit on the three races, as it should.

WASHED OUT: Both Beverley and Gowran Park were called off this morning.

DAQMAN SEEKS DERBY-OAKS ACCA

Look out at Epsom! Daqman has landed a hat-trick of Classic winners in May, and wants to accumulate the 100-plus points he’s made in next week’s June feast of Derby and Oaks. He will apply reasoning like this:

WON 16-1 POETIC FLARE from BETDAQ 18.5; 2000 Guineas (Newmarket, Saturday, May 1): Best-outsider; bull’s-eye bet for 60 points profit.

‘Dewhurst (10th of 14) came too soon for him but stylish winner of the Leopardstown Guineas Trial. He has shown he travels well but still finds a change of gear. Well backed during the last week or so. The only Irish runner with a prep run’.

WON 10-1 MOTHER EARTH; 1,000 Guineas (Newmarket, Sunday, May 2): plus Lays Logic to oppose the favourite, Santa Barbara (7-4); unplaced 5-2.

‘Has the experience and the provenance: third in the Fillies Mile and second in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies.’

WON 14-1 EMPRESS JOSEPHINE from BETDAQ 28.0; Irish 1,000 Guineas (Curragh, Sunday, May 23). Win and place for 40 points profit.

‘Minding’s sister, also drawn high, has had very little racing but could take a big leap forward.’

NEXT WEEK: DERBY SECRETS; how the race is won; ABC stats and facts guide. Daqman usually picks two in a big race.

Unless you are a professional playing the long game, don’t be shy to back more than one in any race because BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE offers as odds add up to very little overround; usually only between 101 and 110% at a big meeting. With bookmakers, the Irish 1,000 Guineas – for example – had an SP total percentage of 121%.

BETDAQ DERBY VALUE: 7.0 High Definition (average 4-1 with bookmakers); John Leeper 11.0 (8-1); Van Gogh 36.0 (16-1); 35.0 Sir Lamorack (20-1).

KRAKEN WAKES ON TRACK TO SUIT

⭕ 2.40 Hamilton This sprint goes to young horses, including three times to three-year-olds in the seven seasons up to 2019.

That’s a pointer to Royal Advice, but he’s up in the weights, up in grade, and switching for his hat-trick from Tapeta to turf.

Lady Nectar also faces horses in a higher grade, among them Kraken Power, who could be the win-and-place bet of the day at 11.0 in the BETDAQ orange.

Significantly, it was here at Hamilton on soft ground that Kraken Power broke his maiden last June.
Usually, I’d say keep away from a horse that’s won only his maiden but, after that Hamilton strike, when he beat subsequent winners Abduction and Bergerac, he went for the big time as a juvenile.

A Listed at Newbury, a Group 2 at Goodwood won by Battleground, and a Sales race at York, in which he weakened only in the last 100 yards.

Kraken Power returned to action earlier this month in a big field at Thirsk for the well-supported Northallerton Handicap and was just run out of the places. Today represents his first real chance down in grade and back on the course where he won.

BETDAQ value 11.0 Kraken Power

MORE DREAMS AHEAD FOR HARRY

⭕ 6.30 Warwick Congratulations Harry Skelton, Warwickshire’s Champion Jockey, hails the racehead of the opening novice hurdle at Warwick tonight (5.25).

But I reckon the real celebrations will start an hour later when Harry himself has his sole ride of the day on Aheadfullofdreams.

The dreams have turned to reality for the son of a gold-medal Olympian, riding for his brother, Dan.

Youngest winner of the Irish Grand national (Niche Market 2009) and last season with his name linked to Nibe Negra, Roksana, Allmankind, Politologue and many minor horses that were major links in his chain of commanding the best English jump jockeys.

Now he is on an emerging young chaser, the ideal conveyance for his power ride.. Many more dreams to come true.

BETDAQ value 4.9 Aheadfullofdreams

BLUSH TO KEEP US OUT THE RED

⭕ 8.20 Wolverhampton The final selection on a depleted day comes late in the day with Imajorblush. After finishing third over this trip at Newcastle he was sent off favourite here last time out but could only finish fifth.

He was only beaten three lengths that day but the biggest positive looks to be the step back in trip into what doesn’t look a hot contest.

Cinzento has been winning in classified events and will find this harder whilst I’m not convinced that Tanqeeb sees out this trip.

BETDAQ value 4.5 Imajorblush

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
