SCOTLAND V CZECH REPUBLIC

2pm It’s another busy day at Euro 2020 and what a way to spend a Monday! We start the day with a massive game for Scotland as they take on the Czech Republic. All Euro 2020 matches are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and we have another very competitive betting heat here. This is actually the most open market of the tournament yet, with all three outcomes not far away from 3.0. You’d have to expect England and Croatia to qualify from this Group, but that puts a huge amount of pressure on this game for the third place rankings. Realistically, a draw is a bad result for both sides as they aren’t going to beat England or Croatia – I’d be going all out to win here if level in the final 15 minutes – it’s even worth the risk of losing in my opinion. These two should know each other very well as they were in the same Nations League Group.

The Czech Republic qualified behind England but they had a very weak Group with Kosovo, Bulgaria and Montenegro. Scotland did it the hard way in the Playoffs, but they have made progress recently. They finished second behind Czech Republic in the Nations League and those games should give us a good guide as to what to expect here. Although Scotland finished behind the Czech Republic, they actually beat them twice. Scotland actually got themselves in a fantastic position at the top of the Group but lost their final two games. As you can see by the market, it’s hard to see anything other than a very close game here – but I feel if there is to be a winner it will be Scotland, and I would have the prices the other way around with Scotland marginal favourites and Czech Republic marginal outsiders. I’m happy to have a reasonably small lay on the Czech Republic.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Czech Republic to beat Scotland at 2.88 with BETDAQ Exchange.

POLAND V SLOVAKIA

5pm Another fascinating market here, and I have to have another Max Bet. If you follow my column regularly you will know I don’t have many Max Bets, but the value on offer in Euro 2020 has been incredible – especially with no commission on BETDAQ too. Poland are my next Max Bet at 1.86 to beat a very average Slovakia side. Slovakia qualified through the Playoffs with a win on penalties against the Republic of Ireland then a win over Northern Ireland in Path B. I think it’s fair to say that the Republic of Ireland were unlucky not to beat them, and we know how limited Ireland are going forward. Slovakia were playing solid football in qualifying but could only manage third behind Croatia and Wales. They have since got relegated from the Nations League in a pretty weak Group with Czech Republic, Scotland and Israel.

Poland are at a completely different level to Slovakia, and to be honest would beat any of those teams in the Nations League Group with Slovakia. Poland played their Nations League football in Group A4 with Italy and the Netherlands, and they held their own – although they not quite in the same bracket as those two top sides. I feel this is a mis-match in class, and Poland look fantastic value at 1.86. Slovakia are very limited going forward, and I know Poland aren’t quite a top side – they always score plenty of goals and they can out score this weak Slovakia side.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Poland to beat Slovakia at 1.86 with BETDAQ Exchange.

SPAIN V SWEDEN

8pm Much like Scotland v Czech Republic earlier in the day, we have another two sides who should know each other very well. Spain and Sweden finished first and second in their qualifying Group. That was in 2019 and while a bit of water has passed under the bridge, it seemed clear to me that Spain were the better side. Sweden did manage a 1-1 draw when they had home advantage, and to be honest a draw seems to be their best chance of a result here. The market agrees, with Spain trading 1.47 at the time of writing. Spain, like a lot of the top sides, have gone through a period of transition in recent years. They seem to be making great progress under Luis Enrique however, although there have been some “odd” decisions in the build-up to this tournament. Leaving Sergio Ramos out and also naming a 24 man squad without a single Real Madrid player is definitely an eyebrow raiser! Especially when he left two spots unfilled.

Given his history with Barcelona, I’m sure there’s something going on. I’m intrigued to see how Spain play here, although I can’t see past a Spain win. They absolutely bossed the two games against Sweden in qualifying – just look at the xG figures and you can see how impressive they were. They topped their Nations League Group with Germany in it and Sweden got relegated from a Group with France, Portugal and Croatia. That was a tough Group in fairness, but it’s probably a reflection of the fact that Sweden can’t cope with the top sides. Spain won’t be a Max Bet for me, but they are worth backing at 1.47. They are a side for any BETDAQ Multiple today too.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Spain to beat Sweden at 1.47 with BETDAQ Exchange.
