HUNGARY V FRANCE

2pm What a fantastic Saturday at Euro 2020! Three excellent games, and all matches are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We have two very short favourites today and a cracker between Portugal and Germany, but we kick off the day Hungary taking on France. Hungary were pretty poor in their opening game against Portugal, and it’s no surprise to see France very short here trading at 1.34. Hungary held out until six minutes to go, but they only managed to create an xG of 0.23 themselves. They will likely have the same tactics here, and it seems their best chance of a result is 0-0. France won nicely against Germany – it’s fair to say they have the complete package. They have superstars going forward, and they are comfortable at the back too. They were happy to sit back and defend their 1-0 lead, and although their tactics were a little negative – Germany didn’t have many chances at all considering France let them have the ball a lot in the second half.

Hungary have a very weak attack, and I feel it’s a case of “how many” rather than will France win. Portugal created a lot against Hungary before scoring, and France weren’t too fussed chasing a second goal against Germany. I feel Hungary could frustrate France at times and that will clearly make the goals and handicap markets very interesting. Over 2.5 goals is trading around 1.9 but I feel France will have to do a lot of work for that to land. That being said, I wouldn’t rule out France turning on the style here either. The best bet here is Both Teams Not To Score at 1.65. France can keep a clean sheet against this weak Hungary attack – they looked excellent at the back against Germany and have a top class midfield. The 1.65 is better value than any goals or handicap bet in my opinion.

Three points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.65 BETDAQ Exchange..

PORTUGAL V GERMANY

5pm Next we have the highlight of the day as Portugal take on Germany! Portugal left it late against Hungary but they recorded a comfortable win in the end with a good performance. That was a must win game for them, and now a draw against either Germany or France will see them through with the third place ranking. Germany will be looking to bounce back after a 1-0 loss to France but I don’t agree with the odds here. Germany look very short at 2.38 and I expect a very close game here. When France took the lead, they basically sat back and said to Germany “try score” but Germany didn’t do much with the ball at all. They finished the game with an xG of 1.09 which was very low considering how much of the ball they had in the second half. I know France had a lower xG, but once they scored they were actually happy to sit on the lead. I was surprised how toothless Germany were up front.

Portugal played at a much lower level against Hungary, and Hungary are very limited going forward – but Portugal only conceded an xG of 0.23 and they look very solid at the back. They have some excellent attacking players too and Germany looked very vulnerable on the counter against France. My main question here is, do I want to take a chance and back Portugal, or do I want to lay Germany. The Portugal bet is very tempting, but in such a close game I’m happy to have the draw on the side – although I wouldn’t be surprised to see Portugal win. I feel the 2.38 is so short on Germany it’s worth a Max Bet Lay – my first of Euro 2020! I struggle to see how Germany create enough to beat this rock solid Portugal team – I know France are a world class side, but Germany haven’t been at their best in recent times, and Portugal can get a result.

The Ultra Says:
Five points lay (liability) Germany to beat Portugal at 2.38 BETDAQ Exchange.

SPAIN V POLAND

8pm We finish a superb Saturday with a massive game in Group E. Both sides would have been disappointed with their results in their opening fixture, and now the pressure is on. Most football fans would have said these two would finish first and second, but a Poland loss against Slovakia and a Spain draw with Sweden has thrown the Group wide open. I said both sides would have been disappointed with their results, rather than their performances, because their performances were actually good. Spain created an xG of 2.89 against Sweden and Poland created 1.76 against Slovakia. Both should have won based on chances created, but football’s not about that – it’s about taking your chances. This should be an excellent game though, and a high pressure game too. Poland need a result, and for all the class that Spain have they look a little short at 1.41.

Although I think Poland will put in a good performances and the 1.41 is a little short, it’s not short enough that I want to lay Spain. Their xG in their first game was very impressive, and if they convert their chances then people will start talking them up as possible Champions again. Poland are a rock solid side, but they lack a touch of class – we more or less saw that against Slovakia. It was very disappointing they couldn’t beat an average side like Slovakia. I’m happy to keep stakes small in this game, but given all the chances both sides created in their opening game I’m happy to take the 1.86 on over 2.5 goals here. We could have a cagey start, but once this game opens up then I feel we’ll see a lot of chances and goals.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.86 BETDAQ Exchange..
