SILVER TO TURN GOLD
⭕ 1.30 Lingfield Istorius represents the in form yard of Venetia Williams (9 winners from last 28) but looks a little short on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market for my money.
A maiden in 15 starts he hasn’t (yet) looked a natural over fences in two starts and made a couple of errors when fifth at Ffos Las last time out where he jumped notably right at most of the obstacles.
The other concern would be the heavy ground – he was beaten 55 lengths and 87 lengths in his two UK starts over hurdles when the ground was heavy.
Even allowing for the good recent run of trainer (and jockey) he might be worth opposing here.
Colonel Keating has plenty more experience and will have no problems on the ground. The downside for him is the 318 days off the track and he hasn’t run particularly well after a break previously in his career.
The percentage call might be Silver Nickel whose course and distance (and going) fourth last time out might easily prove good enough in a race where there are plenty of question marks at the top of the market.
LEROY FOR WOLVERHAMPTON FAME
⭕ 5.00 Wolverhampton A rare drop into the basement grade for Daqman with Leroy Brown here. Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies appears to have found an early Christmas present for the six-year-old who is rated a lofty 101 over hurdles.
His flat form (and rating) is nothing like that but he travelled well in better company at Lingfield last time out to finish second (eight lengths admittedly) to Smith.
On a modest day of sport his chance really does stand out.
CAREY LOOKS A QUALITY STREET
⭕ 5.30 Wolverhampton Again, a favourite I want to be against – this time Starfighter who was beaten in a lower grade last time out, seemingly with no excuses.
Carey Street might be able to follow up on his course and distance win earlier in the month off just a 2lb hike in the weights. He’s fairly reliable and seems to show his best form at Dunstall Park.
Hector’s Here returns to the flat having sulked in two starts over hurdles and is best watched to see if he’s in a better mood now back on the level.
DAQMAN’S BETS (each staked to win 10 points)
BET 2.3pts win SILVER NICKEL (1.30 Lingfield)
BET 5.3pts win (nap) LEROY BROWN (5.00 Wolverhampton)
BET 3.1pts win CAREY STREET (5.30 Wolverhampton)
What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
