WEEK AHEAD: The first week of 2022 is packed with plenty of football cricket action, as well as golf and NFl.
The first full week of the New Year gets underway on Monday in South Africa as India continue their tour of the Rainbow Nation, the action will start at 08:00 on Sky Sports and all five days will be available throughout the week. Shortly after we’re Down Under as the Big Bash continues and it’s a local derby between Melbourne’s two sides, the Stars and the Renegades will both be in action at 08:15. We’re off to Old Trafford in the afternoon as Man United host Wolves at 15:00 before venturing down to Alexandra Palace for the World Darts Championship that evening. We’re then down to New Zealand for day 4 of the Test between Bangladesh at 21:30 before finally settling in Cleveland for the night as the Browns host Pittsburgh Steelers at 01:15 on Sky Sports.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are treats for cricket fans as there are no less than four fixtures taking place on all three days, including the disappointing Ashes series as England start their fourth Test against the old enemy, with all hopes of avoiding the whitewash. All five days, if England can take it that far, are available on BT Sport from 23:00. Thursday also sees the start of the Tournament of Champions where the Hawaiian sunshine will be the envy of everyone, all the action will be live from Sky Sports until the tournament’s culmination on Sunday.
The weekend is jam packed and Saturday gets us started with more BBL fixtures and action from the five FA Cup fixtures on the BBC, as well as another Test beginning between the Kiwi’s and Bangladesh. Sunday rounds us out with an opening BBL fixture between Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers before two FA Cup fixtures on ITV and the final action in the Tournament of Champions.
