THURSDAY EUROPA LEAGUE: The Ultra previews Thursday’s matches between BODO/GLIMT v ARSENAL and MANCHESTER UNITED v OMONIA NICOSIA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BODO/GLIMT V ARSENAL

5.45pm We’re back to Europa League action on Thursday on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Arsenal and Manchester United in action again. It’s fair to say that both Premier League clubs are multiple levels ahead of their opposition here, so it’s more of a case of how many goals can they score rather than will they win. That being said, Manchester United gave all their backers a big scare last week when they went into half-time 1-0 down! We start the evening with Bodo/Glimt hosting Arsenal though, and Arsenal produced a smooth 3-0 win last week. They were always fully in control of the game, and when you look at the xG figures you can see it could have been even more. Although there is a huge gulf in class between the sides here, it’s worth noting that Bodo/Glimt actually picked up a win and a draw before meeting Arsenal so they aren’t mugs. Arsenal will surely win this Group – they top it after only playing two games because they couldn’t play PSV during the Queen’s funeral week with policing issues. PSV and Bodo/Glimt are both locked on four points each, with Zurich sitting in last. Although this is going to be a very difficult ask for Bodo/Glimt, a draw would be a massive result for them and could get them second place come the end of the Group.

For Arsenal, the task is simple. Win here and edge closer towards topping the Group. They had a massive game against Liverpool at the weekend but that resulted in another confidence boosting win, and then Leeds away this weekend is a pretty tricky fixture. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them opt to rest some players; perhaps that’s why they are trading as high as 1.44 given they looked different class last week. In fairness to Bodo/Glimt they put in a good performance here against Zurich creating an xG of 2.0 and then finished the game away to PSV with an xG of 1.29. They should improve from having home advantage here, but it’s hard to see past the Arsenal win here. To be honest they could play their second XI and still win here. I’m not going to go too mad on the staking because we could see some players rested, but it’s going to be hard to find a better value bet on this game than Arsenal to win at 1.44. This Arsenal side look very settled at the moment, and we can’t keep on questioning their “softness” if they keep winning the big games.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Arsenal to beat Bodo/Glimt at 1.44 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MANCHESTER UNITED V OMONIA NICOSIA

8pm We move to Old Trafford to finish the evening, and Manchester United fans will be hoping for less drama than last week! I know United still got the job done in the end, but it was still a disappointing night for them. There’s so many levels between the sides here, and United played so poorly. They managed to “hang on” for the 3-2 win after going into half-time 1-0 down. It probably shines a light on how poor the squad is once Erik ten Hag rotates just a few players. Ronaldo started and he looks to have lost a yard of pace over the summer – it’s so difficult at his age not to be playing every week to actually be sharp. It’s a credit to him that he’s still in this kind of shape at his age, but at the moment you’d have to say his standard has dropped this season in the brief times we’ve saw him start. Very unlike him too, he missed an open goal towards the end – it seemed like the United players really wanted him to score too! Although he finally scored at the weekend for his 700th goal! United started last week trading around 1.18 to win, and although they are even shorter here at 1.11 they really don’t appeal as a team you want to have in your Acca as a banker or anything like that! Really and truly however, they should win here without much fuss – the gulf in class between the sides is just too big. I would expect ten Hag to leave out a few players from his main XI though, which obviously makes the side markets interesting.

We landed a nice bet on Over 2.5 goals last week, and this game should have goals again. Because United are at home this time though, Overs is trading much shorter at 1.39. It really is hard to know what type of performance we’re going to see from United given the changes so I’ll be keeping stakes small here. Omonia Nicosia have lost their three Europa League games, and they are nailed to the bottom of the Group. To be honest they looked very average against Sheriff Tiraspol and Real Sociedad, but then created their highest xG figure then against United. It’s hard to see them doing well here, but at the same time we can’t just expect a smooth win for United. With United so short in the match odds market, we’ll have to focus on the side markets here and the bet that catches my eye is Both Teams To Score at 2.71. I know United will have a lot of the ball here, but they have been leaking goals lately and this looks worth a small investment at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 2.71 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
