CORK and DOWNPATRICK: Two evening cards to look forward too this evening for Shamrock at Cork (flat) and Downpatrick (jumps).
CORK: Conditions are going to be testing this evening and field sizes (bar one race) have been decimated. The 5.40 is reduced to a four-runner affair and the pick maybe Croisultan from the Dermot Weld yard who should account for his three rivals without too much fuss. He handles give in the ground and was a creditable second to Excelebration in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes at the Curragh last time out. Six Of Hearts was a course and distance fifth in a Listed contest here last time out and Gordon Lord Byron scrambled home in a Tipperary Handicap last time out. Arctic is back on the track after a long absence and in summary 1.64 about Croisultan looks very tempting indeed.
DOWNPATRICK: It’s hardly an inspiring line-up that go to post for the 6.55 and the mare Tango Moll should be able to get off the mark. She was beaten a fair way when fourth at Cork last time out but that still looks good enough form.
SHAMROCK’s BETS:
NAP: CROISULTAN (5.40 Cork)
NEXT BEST: TANGO MOLL (6.55 Downpatrick)
