KILBEGGAN: Irish action comes exclusively over the jumps at Kilbeggan on Saturday. SHAMROCK’s nap comes in the opener at 5.25.
White Feathers should at last lose her maiden tag in the opener at Kilbeggan this evening. She seems to enjoy the jumping game more than the flat and ran a race full of promise here last time when giving backers of odds-on favourite Cause of Causes a scare and was denied by just a head. She steps back in trip tonight but should again account for the third placed Westhaven who was eight lengths behind her in that same race. Her chance is obvious and the BETDAQ price as I write of 1.85 looks quite tempting.
We’ll try a first and last race double with Top Madam in the closing flat race. The mare has the most experience in the race and with Nina Carberry onboard can prove hard to beat. She was only headed near the line when second at Wexford last time out over a longer trip and should relish the testing conditions.
Elsewhere on the card, Surpeme Carolina should prove another for Mullins and Walsh in the 5.55. She should just have to repeat a good run at Cork last time out to win this.
