CARABAO CUP TUESDAY: The Striker previews Tuesday’s matches between BOURNEMOUTH v EVERTON and LEICESTER v NEWPORT COUNTY both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BOURNEMOUTH V EVERTON

7.45pm We kick off the Third Round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and we have plenty of action to look forward to on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week. We have a host of fixtures to choose from on Tuesday as there’s no clear highlight fixture like Manchester City v Chelsea Wednesday night! We start the evening with an all Premier League clash as Bournemouth host Everton. I’m always interested to see what type of starting XI’s these type of sides name for this competition at this stage – we’ve saw a lot of second XI’s from mid-table clubs in the League Cup and FA Cup recently which I find very strange. Surely a Cup run would be a massive boost for either of these clubs, so I do expect strong XI’s but you can never be sure. I suppose it just highlights the importance of the Premier League these days again – finishing a place of two higher is worth more than a Cup run. For Bournemouth though, their sole aim will be staying up this season! Both sides recorded losses at the weekend with Everton losing 2-0 to Leicester and Bournemouth lost 4-3 to Leeds in an absolute thriller. Bournemouth will be kicking themselves after going 3-1 up to lose 4-3 in the final ten minutes. Bournemouth have actually been involved in a lot of thrillers this season!

As you would expect, we have a very open market here. Both sides are very similar on paper, and then also you have to factor in any changes to the main XI’s so it’s not a surprise to see an open market. Everton will be marginal favourites but there really isn’t much between the sides. After the weekend, they are taking up the two places just outside the relegation zone – Everton have one more point than Bournemouth, but you’d have to say Everton are in the relegation mix at the moment as well as Bournemouth who are odds on to go down. Everton have got a few results this season which is to their credit, but they are massively over-performing at the back this season. If you look at their xG figures they should be conceding close to double what they have been – eventually sides will start taking their chances against them. I feel we’ll see goals here and Over 2.5 catches my eye at 1.96 – both sides are conceding sloppy goals and giving away too many chances at the back, so even with some changes here I would expect plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.96 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

LEICESTER V NEWPORT COUNTY

7.45pm There aren’t too many standout fixtures on Tuesday night, but the Leicester v Newport County fixture is the other one that’s worthy of attention in the market. As we all know, Leicester have started the season very poorly and their xG figures have been very poor too, but they finally moved out of the relegation zone at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Everton. That’s three wins from their last four games, and the other game was against Manchester City where they didn’t even play badly. They finished the Everton win at the weekend with an xG of 2.12 which was their highest xG figure of the season and it just seems things are finally heading in the right direction. It seems, for the moment anyway, that Brendan Rodgers has weathered the storm and came out the other side. Not many managers do that, or even get to do that! Leicester will be fully expected to continue their good run here against League Two side Newport County and they are trading very short at 1.15. We do have some mis-matches tonight but Leicester will likely go off the shortest price of the night. There’s obviously a huge gulf in class between the sides here, and it’s likely a case of how many goals Leicester can score rather than will they win.

Newport County have been struggling in League Two this season. After the weekends results, they sit down in 18th and although they are four points away from the bottom three, they aren’t out of the danger zone. Despite their place in the table, Newport County are unbeaten in their last four games. It’s easy to see their tactics for this fixture – they will aim to sit back and frustrate Leicester, trying to make the game as boring and cagey as possible. Leicester played well at the weekend, and I’m sure they are full of confidence at the moment but I’d expect plenty of changes here too. I can see Leicester winning easily without getting into gear, and Under 3.5 goals looks a nice option at 1.7. I’m keeping stakes small because of the gulf in class between the sides, and I am also expecting some changes from Leicester.

The Striker Says:
One point win Under 3.5 goals at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
