GERRY FOR MOORE OF THE SAME

⭕ 2.05 Fontwell Black Gerry almost made the Fortune Cookies list. A winner in handicaps twice over fences at Fontwell, the half-brother to a Grand National winner impressed me at Exeter last month.

Dropped back to novice-chase company, he jumped superbly to outgun dual hurdles winner Bowtogreatness in a finish which prompted the handicapper to raise the winner 7lb and the runner-up 5lb.

That’s made it tough for Gerry but the Moores are on a high right now, and I gained the distinct impression that Black Gerry has more to give.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.6 Black Gerry

COBBLERS DREAM HAS THE CLASS

⭕ 2.55 Uttoxeter Trainer Ben Case is busy with a decent squad of novices.

He won here at the November meeting with Fern Hill, who ‘missed out’ one or two, but Conceroe took a novices’ handicap chase for him in decent style.

The yard’s Martin Pipe runner-up Cobblers Dream was not fluent when also second on his chasing debut at Ascot in October.

Cobblers Dream starred in the Lanzarote at Kempton in January and traveled well at Cheltenham in the Martin Pipe.

So today is a considerable drop in class, though he has to jump to it to beat a smart-looking field.

The Cob is a Grade-2 novice hurdler, and it was at this time two years ago that he won a couple of races. His yard is in good form (29% strike rate) and his jockey, Kielan Woods, has been doing really well. But we have to take it on trust at this stage that The Cob can jump a fence.

On breeding, the Skelton’s runner, Sholokjack, two out of three over hurdles, is much more likely to take to chasing, and wind surgery before this reappearance may help.

Fences should also suit On My Command. A slick hurdler for Harry Fry, the War Command mare has moved to Nicky Henderson.

Latitude, a winning Pointer, is well related and looked promising at Bangor, making his chasing debut. Marco Island also has star chasers to live up to down the dam’s line.

Barony Legends is by Yeats, currently taking a bow as sire of Noble Yeats the ‘could be anything’ winner of the Many Clouds.

BETDAQ value 4.6 Cobblers Dream

PIFFLE IS ON A DANGEROUS MARK

⭕ 4.50 Southwell Several of us fell for a load of Piffle about this dual winner in the late summer last season.. including the handicapper.

He gave her an 81 rating, which proved highly unrealistic. Now, despite Ed Walker’s filly finishing close at Kempton and Lingfield, he has left his goal unguarded, dropping her to 68 on a track where this front-runner is likely to excel.

BETDAQ 11.5 looks big.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
