SERIE A / LA LIGA MONDAY: The Ultra previews Monday’s games between BOLOGNA v ATALANTA and ATHLETIC BILBAO v OSASUNA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BOLOGNA V ATALANTA

7.45pm We kick off a new week around Europe on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Monday night football from Serie A and La Liga! We might not have the most mouth-watering fixtures but we do have two very interesting betting heats with Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao both in action pushing for European football next season. We start the evening in Serie A where Bologna host Atalanta. It’s been quite a disappointing run for Atalanta lately and the World Cup probably came at a good time for them. They went into the World Cup on a run of three straight losses, although two of those games came against Napoli and Inter Milan – they returned to action with a 2-2 draw away to Spezia which was disappointing and I’m sure they will have plenty of punters willing to take them on here. Bologna returned with a 1-0 loss away to Roma – they conceded an early penalty and basically Jose Mourinho did a Jose Mourinho on them. Bologna couldn’t create much after that and it was a pretty straightforward win for Roma. Although there isn’t many places between these in the table, there’s a bit of a gulf in class and plenty of points too.

Atalanta started the weekend round of fixtures sitting just outside the European spots in seventh but they are still well in the mix. They were only five points behind Inter Milan in fourth, and while the top four is probably out of reach for their level this season, they are well in the hunt for fifth of sixth. After finishing in the Champions League spots in 2020/21, they actually feel down to eighth last season to completely miss out on European football so any competition would be a positive result. When you take a quick look at Atalanta’s recent results you think they aren’t in good form, but let’s not forget there was a huge gap there. I feel they are worth backing here at 2.15 looking at the stats. Their under-lining numbers are impressive, and they are solid at the back. They are conceding an average of one goal per game while Bologna’s average xG conceded is 1.6. I’m not going to go mad here with the stakes, but I’d be surprised if Atalanta didn’t have enough class to win here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Atalanta to beat Bologna at 2.15 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V OSASUNA

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish Monday night football as Athletic Bilbao host Osasuna. It was a dramatic weekend in La Liga with Real Madrid losing away to Villarreal on Saturday, and that wasn’t a good result for Athletic Bilbao as they are battling for the European spots with the likes of Villarreal. I’m sure it’s been a shock for everyone to see Sevilla playing so poorly this season, but it hasn’t opened things up a little at the top of the table – usually the top four was pretty certain. After finishing in eighth last season and missing out on the European spots, Athletic Bilbao must be eying up European football now! They have been playing well this season too, and fully deserve to be in the mix. They returned with a very boring 0-0 draw away to Real Betis, but that wasn’t a bad result for them really and overall they are playing great football. They are creating close to two goals per game and conceding less than one. That’s the kind of stats you see clubs competing for the European spots have! The market is expecting a home win here with Athletic Bilbao trading odds on – they are currently 1.72 at the time of writing.

I’m sure the way Athletic Bilbao have been playing this season will mean they are a very popular selection here. Osasuna are your classic mid-table La Liga side, and they were outplayed away from home on their return against Real Sociedad. Athletic Bilbao have been very strong at home this season and it’s hard to see past them here in my opinion – prior to this weekend they actually sat inside the top four on home form, while Osasuna remained pretty neutral on away form. You can see looking at the under-lining numbers from Osasuna that they are a solid, but average side, and with home advantage I just expect Athletic Bilbao to outclass them here. This isn’t one to go mad with the stakes but the 1.72 is worth backing and I would recommend putting them in any Betdaq Multiple too!

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Athletic Bilbao to beat Osasuna at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
