AUSTRALIAN OPEN MEN’S SINGLES: MATCH POINT is back for the first Slam of the tennis year – The Australian Open from Melbourne. Djokovic is back in search of win number 10 in the tournament. Find out the recommended BETDAQ bets.
Two fantastic weeks in prospect as tennis fully gets back to normal service in Melbourne. I say ‘normal’ service as Novak Djokovic missed last year due to his vaccine status but is back in search of his 10th title here and to draw level at 22 with Rafael Nadal in the most Slams race.
Nadal might well have a say in that of course but he has a particularly tough draw (including Jack Draper in the first round) and it’s easy to see why Djokovic is trading a shade odds on on the BETDAQ SPORTSBOOK given his exemplary record here since his first win back in 2008.

As ever MATCH POINT will aim to show a profit on BETDAQ across both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments with a mix of ante-post and match selections.
I need to keep Djokovic on side to subsidise some more speculative plays so will be recommending a 10 point stake on the Serb.
He has a relatively clear passage from the third quarter into the quarter finals where he could meet home favourite Nick Kyrgios in what would be a rerun of their Wimbledon Final from last year.
The only concern for Djokovic backers is how severe his recent hamstring injury is but there certainly has been no dip of form on the court with him winning in Adelaide last week and he has only lost once in his last 25 matches.
At more speculative prices on the BETDAQ SPORTSBOOK I’d like to include Jannik Sinner at 26.0, Casper Ruud at 37.0 and Sebastian Korda at 43.0.
Sinner starts off against Brit Kyle Edmund in the first round. The Italian reached the quarter finals last years and didn’t show his best against Korda in Adelaide due to a hip problem which is now apparently resolved.
Korda was only beaten by Djokovic in the final but made him work hard after taking the first set 10-8 in a tie-break.
Casper Ruud is seeded 3 and looks a tad over-priced. A win here would propel him to World number one and the Norwegian arrives in good form.
