EURO 2024 QUALIFIERS: The Ultra previews Sunday’s qualifiers between ENGLAND v UKRAINE and NORTHERN IRELAND v FINLAND both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ENGLAND V UKRAINE

5pm England are back in action at the Euro 2024 Qualifiers on Sunday evening on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. England started their qualifying campaign with a bang on Thursday night with a 2-1 win over Italy away from home. That was an ideal start, and they are on their way to topping the Group now if they don’t have any slip-ups. They had an ideal first half going into the break 2-0 at half-time, and from there they just had to close out the game. Ukraine have obviously been through a lot over the last few years, and it must be terrible not being able to play at home too. They did well to beat Scotland in the playoffs for the World Cup, but then got beaten in their final against Wales. Everyone will expect a comfortable home win, and the market has England trading 1.3 at the time of writing. It’s hard to argue with those odds, but Ukraine are a solid side and while I don’t see anything other than a home win here the 1.3 does feel a little short. I would expect to see Ukraine sit back and make the game as cagey as possible. I don’t see any value in the match odds market, so we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value.

A draw would be an excellent result for Ukraine, so I expect them to set up like that. In the latest Nations League they kept games as tight as possible unless they were against weak opposition. They did concede three goals away to Scotland however, so we know there is a big gulf in class between the sides here. The main argument against Gareth Southgate is that England aren’t too exciting to watch, and don’t create a huge amount. He does have a great record though, but of course we know England have had easy draws in the major tournaments. Once again I expect England to not create a huge amount but get the job done. I’m happy to keep stakes small here because there is a gulf in class, but Under 2.5 goals looks a nice position at 2.18. I can see England grinding out a smooth 1-0 or 2-0, some fans will probably complain that’s not good enough but such in the way with English media with this side at the moment.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.18 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

NORTHERN IRELAND V FINLAND

7.45pm Northern Ireland are also back in action on Sunday night, and they have a huge game in Group C against Finland. Northern Ireland are up against it in this Group, as I said on Thursday their Nations League performance givens them no comfort heading into this tournament and although they have been given an “easier” Group than their last two qualifying tournament, they still have a lot to do. Finland are one of the sides who will be fancied to finish second behind Denmark in this Group, and if Northern Ireland want to change that then they simply must win or at least draw with home advantage. We all know that Northern Ireland are much better in front of their own fans, so looking at the overall picture of the Group they probably need to win here. They started their campaign with a 2-0 win over San Marino on Thursday night, nothing unexpected there, while Finland lost away to Denmark – again probably nothing surprising. With Northern Ireland having home advantage, we should have a very close game here. The market agrees with that too, because we have a very open market.

At the time of writing, Northern Ireland are the favourites at 2.72, Finland are 3.05 and the draw is 3.2. Because of their poor performances in the Nations League, Northern Ireland find themselves playing a C level. They didn’t do too well there either, finishing behind Greece and Kosovo, with the same amount of points as Cyprus – they could have easily finished bottom of the Group. Finland play at B level and they were involved in a very open Group with Bosnia And Herzegovina, Montenegro and Romania. Northern Ireland don’t exactly play an attacking brand of football, and away from home I can’t see Finland being too attacking either. I feel we’ll get a very cagey game here, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 0-0 score line either. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.59 so the market is obviously expecting a cagey game too. I couldn’t put anyone off that bet, but I’m going to take a chance with a small bet on 0-0 in the Correct Score market at 8.2.

The Ultra Says:
One point win 0-0 Correct Score at 8.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
