WON 13-8 BEARWITH (Monday nap)
WON 4-5 DRUMROLL (Sunday nap)
BIG-RACE COUNTDOWN EVERY DAY: Daqman’s Derby countdown continues with an update on the runners and on his Fortune Cookies for June. Look out for ABC guides to the Derby and the Oaks.
PASSENGER’S £85k DERBY TICKET
DERBY COUNTDOWN: Passenger was yesterday’s sole supplementary entry among 16 probables for Saturday’s Epsom Derby at a cost of £85,000.
Passenger would be a seventh success in the race for Sir Michael Stoute, who won it last year with Desert Crown.
Auguste Rodin and Military Order remain favourites in front of Arrest (Team Gosden) for a Frankie Dettori farewell winner.
Auguste Rodin is one of four declared by Aidan O’Brien, including Adelaide River and Covent Garden, but San Antonio may wait for the French Derby at Chantilly on Sunday.
Military Order is with Godolphin handler, Charlie Appleby, who has won the race twice with Masar (2018) and Military Order’s brother Adayar (2021).
FORTUNE COOKIES TOP 21
DERBY COUNTDOWN: Daqman stands by Auguste Rodin for his Fortune Cookies, and takes Passenger on board; details of the top-rated colts will be in this Thursday’s Derby ABC guide and Saturday’s final Daqman verdict. His Oaks pair for Fortune Cookies remain Savethelastdance and Soul Sister.

THE BRIGHTON KING
⭕ 3.40 Brighton If ever there was a list where ‘horses for courses’ applied Brighton would be in the top one! It’s an idiosyncratic course with roller coasters rivalling those a few hundred yards away on the seafront.
But there are horses that handle the Sussex track very well and that’s the angle in to this one mile two furlong handicap where there might be some value in following Seattle King – the only course and distance winner in the field.
Trained by Phil McEntee, Seattle King is a regular here who won over CD earlier this month but then struggled over the longer 1m 4f trip just a week ago.
There’s a certain symmetry to his course CV – two wins over 1m 2f and two defeats over 1m 4f. Regular pilot Josephine Gordon rides again and the combination can see off Letter Of The Law whose form is generally better over shorter trips and Cape Cornwall Rose whose form ties in closely with the selection but this one remains a maiden and can often throw in a really poor run.
CAVALLUCCIO ANOTHER FOR ALICE
⭕ 6.10 Lingfield Cavalluccio was nibbled at in the early Betdaq Betting Exchange market and can land this for Alice Haynes who had a winner at Redcar yesterday.
Cavalluccio has done most of his racing on the all-weather but proved he has ability for the turf too with a good run at Yarmouth last week when chasing home Moonlit Cloud. He was only headed close home and a similar run might well prove good enough.
The danger is probably Richard P Smith who is weighted up to his best form but trainer Ed Dunlop remains in good form.
ELMS RATED 9/10
⭕ 6.25 Nottingham This could well be a coin flip between Nine Elms and Ivy Avenue who both have promising young riders aboard.
Preference has to be for the consistent Nine Elms who makes his first start for Kevin Frost. He is a four-time course winner and looks a safer percentage call than Ivy Avenue who despite recent form of 22 was beaten six lengths and 12 lengths in those two races.
I mentioned yesterday the quiet form of Michael Appleby who then inevitably bounced back with a winner but the overall of 2 wins from their last 26 runners is still a concern for me.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
